Guys, Essay Paper is over. How was it?
@Capedcrusader1 well every year there are plethora of candidates who feel they did exceptionally well...finished the paper...good handwritting..data..presentation and everything but cud not clear mains... god knows y...even i felt so last to last year
i have an explanation for this. and this is my feeling. if i get an environment q, i often get so excited to write that a well prepared (data basically) answer tends to reach average. i corrected this this time but still couldnt implement it completely. examiner will only view what we show and thats why i feel that even in qs where we low knowledge, simply presentation does the job. my writing surely has improved
Anyone with Anthro
Is anthro really short ? like how much is syllabus in comparison of PSIR ?
PSIR is one of the lengthiest imho if not the lengthiest among all.
kyu bhai Maths and engineering optionals nhi hote kya UPSC me....
leaving them i was talking about humanities and tbh they need practice more (that is why lengthy) and engineering ones esp are not that long against the established myth.
In PSIR over my attempts i found so much to read b/w pre and mains

Anthro short?! Whaaaaat? It has one of the lengthiest syllabus out of all the optionals. And combine that with lot of rote memorization. Further every topic has separate set of thinkers. In general thinkers of one topic cannot be used in other topics. So lots and lots of memorization. It's not an easy subject at all.
In GS 2, How many of you knew the relevant Case laws??? For Q1 (10M)
In Geography Optional, How many of you knew 1a in Paper 1 Section A : About Speleothem?? I didn't attempt it as i had no clue about it. Was it difficult question for others too ??
For GS2 Q1, I mentioned MC Mehta case and that it brought the doctrine of absolute liability(don't know if it's completely relevant here), TN Godavaraman case - Continuing mandamus concept was devised, Art 21 and under it various rights that have been given and the recent ESZ notification of Supreme Court. This is all that came to my mind then. Should have written GRAP in NCR too.

@Capedcrusader1 seems i was the one who was not aware of MC Mehta case. Never realised that case was important to bear in mind. Wrote in general without quoting relevant case laws.
