Guys, Essay Paper is over. How was it?
I have flunked my 2 prelims bcz of CSAT but i did prepare for mains in my both attempts
Thing is I am Unable to complete my paper in most cases
i have done good amount of ans writing but yet to finish papers(Including socio opt)
so what's the mantra to finish paper with right quality of answers
should we aspire for a ideal preparation where we mostly focus on quality in Test series
but in actual exam this is not the case as I have known from ur shared experience
So plz give some insights how to balance and be feel content with mains preparation

Hi seniors, I know this is not the right time to ask this Q but I need your help

I haven't seen anybody who was able to finish all papers on time in test series. You must however keep trying to do things like Use a stopwatch, ready made Intro/conclusions, Prepare the predictable questions with absolute ratta,Make diagrams or flow charts wherever you feel like (Mostly for predictable parts again)
You must also keep in mind & tell yourself that With revisions, your recalling power will increase massively. Just before mains, You'll also make short notes for ready made intro & conclusions, diagrams, committees & datas for short term memory which will further add to your speed
Best way is to stick to the 7 mins or 11 min rule. Just stick to this. If you violate this in one question make sure, you compensate it in a question you know nicely or in a question you know nothing about
At last like always : again I would say, Nobody (especially me) is an absolute authority on anything. This is my experience. A lot maybe able to finish paper in test series to. For me, it has been a rare phenomenon

and most importantly graph & data. If you focus on these quality material and write them in your test series, then it might happen that you end up taking 3 hr 30 min or more for completing a given test ..but trust me that points, data, graph, committee will be imprinted in your brain. Considering that you would have a fair answer writing practice before mains, then in actual exam you would be quick to recall most of these stuff & would be able to reproduce them every swiftly. This would eventually help you complete your papers within time.
This is what I did in my Mains 2022, I was in a similar situation when I completed my 1st GS 1 paper of MGP in 4 hrs. However, in that test I wrote very good points & this was reflected in my evaluated copy.
I preferred quality over time in MGP & this helped me to complete all my Mains paper within the stipulated time with fair quality material (this is what I think).
Hope this helps.
All the best !!
Kaaptan is also criticizing vikas dhayal for too much info. Then it might be genuine.
Yeh insider key zagade mein, Sala mental health ki sister-mother ek ho rahi hai.
I don't want to say this but I really want someone to tell them that : Both suffer from massive megalomania especially Kaptaan. He has literally posted his breakup stories on a public channel meant for CSE. Once, even wished his ex "Anniversary" on a platform meant for UPSC preparation
The group that they run as someone above described it : Waha ki baatein padh kar, ankhon se khoon aa jayega
Most of the time, these insiders are indulged in massive self praise. Also both sides have commercial interests involved & hence any publicity (positive or negative) benefits them in terms of attracting subscribers 🙃
It's very important for us to understand these aspects. We must stay rational & keep our mind calm in their egoistic & commercial battles

I think we aspirants most of the times tend to overestimate our competence. Coming with safron paste on forehead is his personal choice and right too. And allegations about corruption remain allegations only, unless proven. Having respect for members, not for the sake of it but genuinely, will help when one interacts with them in actual interview. One’s body language speaks what words don’t. Imagine yourself a UPSC member and you sense that the candidate despises you. Will you award marks to him or her liberally?
Absolutely. Thanks for highlighting.
