LIVE Session onStrategic Mistakes and Handling Tricky Questions
LIVE Session for filling up DAF 2 | CSE 2020
Hello All,
So the last time I create a TG for Interview prep we saw some good discussions. However, the group has little archival value, by which I means discussions that happen are not archived on the Internet forever - which is something we need for Civils prep - or at least for the community.
This thread is created by ME circa 2021 to be "The Interview Group"
I am also working on a guide for Interview Preparation - which is kinda here
And a very interesting hobby discussion thread here

They are supposed to measure your eyesight, but some hospitals ask you to provide them the power to save the time ( govt hospitals are always flooded with patients )
If you don’t wear glasses, and your photo does not have glasses, it’s okay. The personality test and medical are on two different days and by different people :P
Thanks sir. Asking because i came to know of my myopia from a previous medical. Was minor. They asked me to get glasses made else theyd declare me medically unfit. Got them made same day.
You are right about the photo. Was asking because one short tempered doc at lmlh went after a candidate for not having his photo with specs. But thats just one angry doc i guess. What else to expect 😅
Dealing with these nitty-gritties first. Keeping them on the side for peace of mind. Will now be able to focus on core prep better.
Do we need to have our photo with specs? Everywhere I have my photo which is without specs
Do you wear specs? Some boards ask why you are not wearing specs? It is not a major issue.
Yes sir, I wear specs but the photo in my DAF is without specs
@Neyawn sir, DAF asks for leadership positionsin school/college.I did something while I was in college, but that had nothing to do with the college. It was in an organisation in the city. Will it be okay to include that?
My certificate for prize scholarship medal etc. section is in delhi while I’m not. Will UPSC debar me if I don’t submit scanned copies of that and produce the original during the interview?@Neyawn
Till now debarment has not happened for this ground. You can always produce certificates as demanded later. Are you being asked to upload it right away ?

@Neyawn Sir, I am pasting this from a Telegram group. I have the similar doubt. Seems like there is some confusion about the wording in the instructions.

Logically there has been an error by the technicians. Post grad seems to imply your degree. Which you get post graduating. Not marksheets or provisional certificate. The minimum educational qualification for this exam.
In the next check box upload all certificates of achievements by combining the pdfs into one. They wanted to say that individually convert your pdfs into greyscale and then combine into one. Its the second instruction on the upload document page.
But they couldbt communicate it properly i think.
Tl dr- upload degree under 1st check box, certificates under 2nd after combining into single pdf

Look, people have done that before, and until past two years no one asked fir a certificate. In fact when people used to carry the certificate , the Sir there used to just pull out two certificate - 10th end graduation from the lot to verify and ask the candidate to keep the rest out.
You may skip it if you think it looks frivolous. Frankly board does not judge candidates for what they have put in these columns. It only raises the expectation .

Go ahead with your graduation certificate in 1. In others you can combine your certificates - whatever you have or upload the most significant one . Then carry whatever you have to the commission.

You prepare the answer why you are not having specs beforehand. That’s all.

1. There's no error. We have uploaded our undergraduate degree with DAF I. That suffices. This is for those who check the box for having done their post graduation as well (like me). We have to upload the PG degree in support of that too.
2. The other certificates are not necessary to be uploaded with the second link. The DAF II gets submitted even without them. Did this last year, faced no issues (same columns were present in last year's DAF too)

This is helpful. Thank You.
To all of you filling up the forms, please know that you only have two worry about the details in two things.
One is EWS Certificate and the other is NCL Certificate. Apart from that you will not face any issues with respect to Certificates.
@Arrokoth Did they even ask for certificates before the interview last year? Apart from 10th and Grad/ Post Grad?

They didn't, apart from the ones you mentioned, Sir. Neither are those verified on the interview date. No hassle in that regard.
@Neyawn sir, I am planning to come to Delhi, but am waiting for the interview dates to get announced. I have been advised by various people to come to Delhi asap just in case the interviews start early and my date falls within the first few days. Should I wait for the interview dates to get announced or should I come early w/o waiting for the same?

That must be a relief to all first timers here. Plus the green tick :)

Look people from out stations , they generally come two times. Once immediately after the results and take 3-4 mocks and go back.
Second, 3 weeks to 4 weeks before the Interview.
