LIVE Session for filling up DAF 2 | CSE 2020
Hello All,
So the last time I create a TG for Interview prep we saw some good discussions. However, the group has little archival value, by which I means discussions that happen are not archived on the Internet forever - which is something we need for Civils prep - or at least for the community.
This thread is created by ME circa 2021 to be "The Interview Group"

To all of you filling up the forms, please know that you only have two worry about the details in two things.
One is EWS Certificate and the other is NCL Certificate. Apart from that you will not face any issues with respect to Certificates.
@Arrokoth Did they even ask for certificates before the interview last year? Apart from 10th and Grad/ Post Grad?
They didn't, apart from the ones you mentioned, Sir. Neither are those verified on the interview date. No hassle in that regard.
That must be a relief to all first timers here. Plus the green tick :)
Haha sometimes I start doubting things that I know, looking at queries here. All this is a good confirmation exercise! :)
@Neyawn Sir, In the Sports/NCC etc - does projects under NSS count as a valid entry? Saw in one DAF session that NSS and NSO are both acceptable. Still wanted some confirmation.
Can anyone suggest dress code for men in personality test. Is wearing suit advisable in summer season(April/may) ?

@Neyawn I have appeared as a scribe of some of the visually impaired students in various banking, PO exams in last 6-7 years (around 2012-2019). I was thinking of putting this in 'Other extracurricular activities' but I am already going to put 3 hobbies (I do them regularly and think I could be able to answer questions) and also after reading about your view on 'trying to show a social side', I'm a bit hesitant.
So, should I put it or not?
@Neyawn Sir, I am pasting this from a Telegram group. I have the similar doubt. Seems like there is some confusion about the wording in the instructions.
Go ahead with your graduation certificate in 1. In others you can combine your certificates - whatever you have or upload the most significant one . Then carry whatever you have to the commission.
Sir my internship certificate abroad is scanned only and they gave it to me in online format only. I am writing it, should I get hard copy as well or this will suffice? (Hard copy may be difficult to get as I am not in touch with professor for long) or I should simply print the certificate in colour format? Besides I have done fundraising for cash relief to migrant laborers, should I get certificate for that? Sorry for silly questions in advance!!
@Neyawn sir, in daf 2, the service experience is not asked seperately.. was it only the part of daf 1? Please help

1) Where to put DANICS/DANIPS?- From UP, like to work in public interfacing job but Group B status haunts me. 6 services till IA&AS are fixed, would it be prudent to put DANICS just after IAAS?
2) Which one is better between IDES and IDAS? considering recent announcements related to land monetisation.
3) Which is better between IDAS and ICAS?
4) Can MP be preferred over MH for IAS? - I am from UP
5) Which is better between WB and Assam Meghalaya?
6) Which is better for IPS- TG or TN?

MP is a brilliant cadre, go for it. It’s difficult to get it though.
If you are from North, you may choose TG over TN especially if you have never been to either place.
DANICS / DANIPS are for those who think they can enjoy administrative jobs for long. It’s a G2C thing. Other allied services are G2G.
However the thing of group B stays.
IDES people live in lovely houses , and work with armed forces but promotions are slow. After a time it gets a bit lonely ( though locations are nice ) IDAS people end up in bigger cities / metros. I haven’t come across IDAS people wishing to be in IDES, but there are IDES friends who wished they were in Delhi / Bigger cities.

Confused about order precedence of the following services :
ICLS and Trade Service.
Although I have watched some informative videos on both and have read some answers on quora regarding both but still can't seem to decide. I would prefer these two over other accounting and Defence services.
If someone could please share their insights, where would you place them (rank)?
Sir should I put foreign service out given one has to resign if they want to improve rank to get ias as risk of resigning is high @Neyawn .

Those who are very keen on IAS, they put IFS after IPS which automticalky eliminates the chances of getting it.

Thanks for reply sir :) It makes sense however i am not medically fit for IPS due to issues in ear and not fulfilling height criteria. Where should i put it? Do you think is it fair an answer to say i don't want IFS as i want to improve rank. What's your words of wisdom?
