LIVE Session onStrategic Mistakes and Handling Tricky Questions
LIVE Session for filling up DAF 2 | CSE 2020
Hello All,
So the last time I create a TG for Interview prep we saw some good discussions. However, the group has little archival value, by which I means discussions that happen are not archived on the Internet forever - which is something we need for Civils prep - or at least for the community.
This thread is created by ME circa 2021 to be "The Interview Group"
I am also working on a guide for Interview Preparation - which is kinda here
And a very interesting hobby discussion thread here

@Neyawn Sir, In the Sports/NCC etc - does projects under NSS count as a valid entry? Saw in one DAF session that NSS and NSO are both acceptable. Still wanted some confirmation.
No issues, go ahead .

Sir What about deputation to centre of IAS from cadres of North Eastern States?
There is good scope. That stays. But there will be lot of pairavi.
An old forum member, whom I was not expecting to hear from anytime soon reached out. He was in Naga for like 4 years, now in NIA in Delhi.

Hi,
This is probably a repeated question. I actually missed out on filling the relevant job experience in DAF-1. Although I don't have a real job experience till now, I've had a couple of internships which I didn't think qualified as a job and therefore missed out in DAF-1. Is there any way to cover it up in DAF-2? I don't see any column for filling job-related experience in DAF-2.
Further, I graduated from college in 2017 and since then have been into USPC preps, however, post the 2018 (failed) prelims attempt, I did try to get back into the job market and did a couple of projects for a lab (without any remuneration), which I ultimately failed to get into, although I do have a letter of invitation from the same to prove my involvement. I did spend close to 5-6 months on this, will it be safe to mention this somewhere if the board raises the question as to what have you been doing for the past ~4 years?

You are trying too hard to prove you are employable. You are a 2017 pass out. You are not a Neanderthal yet. There are good and honest answers to what you were doing for past 4 years. Go for mocks. Ask this to panels, or mentors you will have perspectives. Discover your answer there.

Are people preparing their grad subjects? Esp engg & no work exp? Should it be done?
I got my hands on the MadeEasy brief for mechanical engineering. I am planning to do it to brush up on the basics like laws of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, etc., things that a class 12th student knows too. I realised I've been so immersed in doing humanities that those simple concepts do not come to my mind easily. I think a cursory glance would do.
If they dig deep, I'd be saying a 'No' with a smile! At this stage, I do not think we can do engineering subjects in detail. The booklet however can be done in 3-4 days.
I think 'No' is fine if one has not graduated recently. I graduated in 2016.
@Neyawn Sir,
I am a graduate in Architecture. In my DAF, I have mentioned my hobbies as logo designing and 3D Modelling/Rendering.
1. Being a relatively lesser known stream related to design , how can I prepare questions in these areas from a layman's perspective ?
2. Is there any disadvantage being an odd one out ? ( majority being engineers and doctors )

Sorry for being off topic but are all old forum discussion threads inaccessible now?
This is what the page says
The older forum was not under further development or maintenance . There was some security issues and the service provider has pulled it down. We have to go through the code and find the malicious code and remove it to make it live again.
Some cryptocurrency scam going on there.

You will get about a dozen questions in the DAF analysis session. They are good hobbies.
There was one CGP kid I remember who had a unique hobby like reading handwriting. Did well, nothing went wrong . Had 185+ in score . They are good. Just don’t bombard the board with too many hobbies.
