To add on to the ongoing discussion, India’s de-hyphenation of its relationship with Israel and Palestine and the reinvigoration of the Quad can also be seen as putting interest before the stated ideological commitments to the two-state solution and non-alignment with any alliances respectively.

@Tarun197 For IFP three things are needed: historical background, current happenings and scholarly analysis of both. For an overview you may go with David Malone or Rajiv Sikri. I personally prefer IGNOU readings. For the scholarly bits, the Oxford Handbook has essays by area experts but it is very dense. You can skim read it to pick up views of experts. Editorials and discussions suffice for the current. For the new books like “the India Way” just read reviews online to get a gist of arguments being made, no need to read them.

Hey, does any body have a review on SR’s GS test series? I have taken her psir crash course TS, but unfortunately couldn’t make the cut for prelims (still wondering how). Either way I’ll be continuing with it.
I don’t want to take VisionIAS TS as I’ve heard their quality tends to deteriorate. Any other suggestion? Looking for mains 2021. Main criteria is upsc standard questions and quick evaluation.

@Tarun197 I read some 4 chapters of India way but didn’t find it relevant from exam perspective. There isn’t anything you can directly quote. It’s a general overview of Indian foreign policy that can be better understood from other sources. Infact just take whatever you can from the reviews and that would suffice. I find EAM’s speeches or articles more relevant than the book, strictly speaking from exam perspective.

@MarcusA Try to do 20-15 markers of the section first, then squeeze 10 markers in remaining time

Took nearly 3.5 to finish my only full length paper yet with great compromises on quality :( it’s the 10 markers that are taking too long somehow.

Has anyone found a good source for some analysis of Finance Commission and UPSC in 1B? Trying to avoid researching for lack of time

Any analysis on why some people got unexpectedly low marks in paper 2. Some toppers have good marks in paper1 but not in 2 .

Any insights would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
