I know this rage is temporary and it’s an every year affair. Every year tens of thousands will feel disrespected because of this exam and the sheer unfairness of it and they will have no option but to move on. However, anyone who calls this paper easy or suggests that basics or “logic” could help you clear it, please come meet me - I just wanna talk.

All this speculation about UPSC wanting to end coachings is BS, just that. If they wanted to do so, they’d stick to books- normal traditional books that everyone whether from rural area or a metropolitan can purchase and read. They won’t be making a shit fest of this sort year after year. Sure 35-40 questions can be solved from basic sources. Assuming you make absolutely no mistake in these questions, you still have to get 10-15 questions right along with negative marking. And every year there are going to be thousands who fall on the wrong side of this gamble. I am one of them this year. I lost so many questions even in questions where I had eliminated 2 options. If it’s a game of probability then it needs special kind of badluck to have so many wrong hits. And yet I know that I am not alone. I know many people are facing exactly what I am with probably much more at stake than me.

At the end of the day, we chose this for ourselves. But we also were told that there are going to be atleast some rules, some order to this chaos.@LetsGetThisBread ‘s daily targets literally kept me going on my worst days and I think it’s more than just unfair if they don’t end up with the desired result. Anyone who tries to preach about the pattern and approach of the exam at this point- please just don’t. Just stop. Let us grieve in peace ffs.

Everyone else who feels lost and hopeless, there are no right combination of words that will make you feel any better. I have attached so much importance to this exam that I don’t even feel it when people tell me I am more than this exam. But a line from Kota Factory goes - “War mein haarne wale warriors hote hain, losers nahi” You all are warriors. Please take care.

You have me! There were many questions where I eliminated two options but I landed on the wrong side :/

We always say upsc is ever evolving. It will evolve its questions like AI does.(Haan jaise vahan to Sundar pichai ka bhatija baitha, Machine learning ka algo lagane)

Also upsc be like “ State psc type k sawal sahi rahenge naye jamane k UPSC k liye. Hame to bas aspirant k “hunch guessing” ka level check krna.”(Main motive- (10 lac- 10000) bachon ko bahar karna. To de dana dan random question phenko paper mei. Aur phir bache yahi sapna dekhenge ki koi na koi, kahin na kahin vo pichle 5 saal k paper mei to chupa hi hoga- vo sawaal jo 2021 mei aaega)

Beginners- New pattern of upsc is just a marketing strategy of coaching vaala trying to build their market.

Apni mehnat basics par karon bas.

Have seen some people giving random statement from.their test series and saying paper was from ours .So now shall we solve all the available tests ?

Which key is feeling most reliable one so far?

If I had stopped studying a month earlier, toh bhi same marks aate.

Lost 2 questions to mis-reading. RBI governor wale mein didn’t read second statement said “constitution” and suba-pargana wale me descending kardiya. Ah. 😑 Upar se CSAT.

Lo Batao! Meine article 14 wala question galat kar diya - misreading, misreading, misreading!

Same here. And I am a law grad. Fml. Became overconfident, didn't even read the full question.

This exam is way too arbitrary to be a mainstay of my life now.

2nd attempt. Getting around 96, may or may not qualify. CSAT check karne ki himmat ni hai. Jo bhi ho, I’m kinda done with all this.

Those who qualify, give it your all in mains - not just with the objective make it to the final list, but maybe more to avoid having to sit for another prelims of this kind.

If I would have played the gamble with some more thinking and analysis, I would have scored above 100. Its a gamble lady, and I have lost !

This was weird paper !! Those who attempted less , they feel they should have attempted more.  Those who attempted more , they feel they should have attempted less.

This randomness of paper is further complicated by random answer keys. Almost every institution is providing 8-10 answers differently.

Yes.

Because this way you can pick any word from the question and claim the entire question to be from your test series.

The point is coaching institutes fail terribly at simulating the pattern of UPSC.

There is a strange thing with upsc. In upsc, centres, there are more four wheelers including mercedes and audis while in ssc cgl and bank po centres, it's the public transport outside the centree

I don't know why people (specifically those who did not sit in exam hall to solve this type of paper) feel that there is 100% strike rate in easy questions. Those who appeared , know it very well that some silly mistakes are bound to happen.  What else we can do ? Pressure is going to play its role.

@fortarach63 What you have marked for concentration of wealth question?

My prep was too heavily based on previous year questions. I did most of the conceptual questions well. But almost every factual ones wrong. I am so disappointed with my performance that I feel like I don't even deserve to complain.

exactly. For a spectator it is easy to take wild guess. Someone who appears in exam know it that on a bad day, one wild guess and game is over
