[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@Sadhika I don’t know. Prima facie, it looks like she denounced Centre’s decision to abrogate Art 370. Which is something she won’t be able to do now according to Civil Services Conduct Rules. She isn’t advocating secessionism judging by just these two posts.

Bringing the discussion back to the original topic..yaar there were reasons due to which UPSC had postponed prelims from 31stmay..wat exactly has changed since then that we can assume in favour of conducting the exam..also the consequences of community spread arising from such a conduct...chances of aspirants getting infected..taking the infection to their homes..just imagine will a sarkari chairman take such risks??wat r the contrary views guys..lets have a proper discussion

@Khamoshkrantikari the question here is what do we(administration) gain from postponing the exam.

1.It was postponed from may 31 to avoid this situation that we invariably ended up in. But it was the right move because there was a chance that we could have controlled the disease, which did not happen. Irrespective of the official position, we are in community transmission ( I don't get this distinction between community transmission and local transmission when almost every major state is in local transmission, especially when interstate movement is no longer restricted).

2. There's no reasonable time frame within which we will be able to curtail the disease. If anything, the cases will go on increasing, and even if they start to decrease, it'll take some time to reach a safe level(whole process may even take 2-3 months). Also on 4th May when UPSC announced the decision to postpone prelims, India was still in a state of lockdown with interstate borders sealed, large containment zones.

3. In such a scenario, government may believe it's prudent to conduct the exam as soon as possible rather than wait for things to get better.

4.By allowing two windows to change centre, UPSC has to an extent made sure that the aspirant will get a centre in his/her state only. Again, still some areas under lockdown, but as we saw in kcet and keam and other exams, intrastate movement from containment zones can be allowed.

Due to these reasons, there's not much utility in postponing the exams, especially as aspirants will continue to stress out further if the exams are delayed. Government's idea is take the gamble, get done with it and deal with consequences later.

Netflix nd Amazon wale inn upsc toppers ke upper koi series kyu nhi nikaal dete hai..Inko bhi kaam mil jaayegaa aur hmlog bhi bach jaayenge. ;-)

Season 1-cse2019 se kare,,materials market se mil jaayegaa,,script forum ias wale likh denge,,cameo role previous years ke star toppers like teena,meena diga ko le lenge,,nd sidekicks me ias allied wale ko daal denge..Complete masala movie bn jaayegi..

Ab koi chikh chikh ke ye scheme balaji telefilms ke ekta kapoor ko mt bta diyo..Nhi to wo alag emotional torture kr degi. ;-(
