[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021
Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@sidnaruto yes with mass transportation blocked i.e. rails, buses and metro, exams can't happen. Not everybody and their parents has a car. Also, it's in the constitution - equality of opportunity.

Only concern now is of starting public transport. And I think it would be started in next month. Trains are already running on limited basis so in the course of time buses would also be started. UPSC will not postpone the exam now only the basis of number of corona virus cases. If public transport is started then Upsc will definitely be conducting the exam. By the month of October I think colleges would also started.
@Dead Man If the government starts normal public transport now i.e. remove the clauses of social distancing (presently no more than 20 people can board a bus) , starts metro etc, there would be a lot many dead men in the tally we see each day .

@Katy_Singh UPSC recommended 829 candidates against 927 vacancies. He is alleging these 98 posts may be filled through lateral entry or may be kept out of preview of reservation clauses.
I don't have any legal background so these reservation policies look quite confusing & opaque..He further alleges general category posts are kept reserved exclusively for non-reserved folks(NC obc+ sc+st) that means 85% population will fight for 50% seats but 15% population will fight for rest of 50% seats,,this will give undue advantage to unreserved general category people..
I neither support him,,neither oppose him,,I m just trying to understand his concerns..

Haan abhi ka jo mahaul hai uss me almost sare reserved list walo ko mil jaayegaa kyuki ias allied services me kaafi vacancies hai,,nd log services chhod ke chle jaa rhe.
Bhailog Corona thing is a real monster. Till 12 noon today, my family had no idea that a mistake of getting together on occasion of Raksha Bandhan will turn out to be such an issue. So my Bhabhi's(Cousin's Wife) mother is undergoing treatment for Cancer. She got herself admitted today again after spending some family time. So the hospital did a Corona test before formal admission and she turned out to be corona positive. Bhabhi has also shown some symptoms since morning. So the whole of my maternal side who got together on the occasion had to undergo PCR Testing in the afternoon(Got some relief in testing since we have some contacts). I have personally spent around 2 hours playing with my nephew who was in in close contact with both Bhabhi and her mother. Though neither me nor my parents show any symptoms, we still are wishing for negative test reports. The worst part is we have two kids under the age of 1 who got together on the occasion. Hopefully everything turns out good, but don't repeat the mistake we committed- Take Covid casually. This tragedy seems distant only till it doesn't fall on us.
@Tangent see the 15% population 50% seats waala argument is totally flawed. If a reserved category student has not taken any benefit (age or attempt relaxation) and he/she qualifies the general cut off for all stages (pre,mains,and final) then he/she is counted in general. Infact on average around9-10% general seats are claimed by aspirants from reserved categories.
2nd part of diverting seats to general category- not possible, because the notification clearly specifies the break up of seats, the whole reserved list outside RTI ambit is again not good enough, someone here was talking about his)her friend getting into reserved list yesterday, so it's no big blanket secret.
