Official: SFG / RLG All Tests Discussions in one place

Hello All,

The Group usage here is a little cumbersome, so I am creating this thread to make sure that all questions with doubts stay in one place. Can someone push all the doubts and queries here? I will make this an announcement?

@GravityShades Well, this is the problem with humanities questions there is no one answer. There are multiple views. So lately I have stopped pushing my logic too far for arriving at the correct answer. I have heard many toppers also suggesting going for an option 70% correct as correct but I don't know how far that rule stands true.

Test 4, Question 2, SFG

The first statement says parliament can limit the operations of national emergency by 42nd amendment. But the amendment states that President can limit the operations of the national emergency to a specified part of India. Hence statement a) should be wrong.

I have a doubt in T4- Q27. When a Bill endangers position of State HC, its reservation is obligatory on the part of Governor. Thus, making his 'justification to reserve/not reserve' inconsequential. So statement 2 should be incorrect.

As far as 3rd statement is concerned, a matter concerning local bodies, shouldn't the Bill be opposed to DPSP A 40 (Though that concerns only villages), and thus by that logic, a justified reason for Governor to reserve the Bill?

In that case, the correct answer should be Option B (statement 1 and 3 correct). Please guide?

Yes, It must be a typing error. The answer will be 'D' I think. They will correct it in some time. It is the President only who declares it.

Interstate Council - constitutional body or not?

@Rewl1 The Inter-State Council is a non-permanentconstitutional bodyset up by a presidential order on the basis of provisions in Article 263 of the Constitution of India. The body was formed by a presidential order dated 28 May 1990 on the recommendation of Sarkaria Commission.

SFG 2.0 Test 10, Q 19 and Q 36

Q. 19 -Privileges were given in other areas as well like Surat, Hyderabad and Madras. Some of them were earlier privileges that were extended and were put in these farmans. So, shouldn't we assume that in terms of granting trade concessions the farmans were limited to Bengal, Bihar and Orissa but in terms of privileges given it included whole India.

So, in my opinion, the correct option would be C i.e., both statement 1 and statement 3 are correct.

Q. 36 - After Bassein Treaty, Marathas had to cede territory (yielding an amount of 26 lakhs) to the British, forgo their right to collect Chauth from Nizam territory and surrender Surat. All this would have weakened the Maratha Empire economically and these can be clubbed together as war indemnity.

So, in my opinion, the correct option would be C i.e., both statement 1 and statement 2 are correct.

sfg 2020 level 2 online test 19

Consider the following statements:

1. The mountain topography of the Western Ghats is broader in the Karnataka region compared to the Maharashtra region.

2. Dodabetta is the second highest peak in the Peninsular region located on Nilgiri Hills.

3. The height of Western Ghat, in general, decreases from North to South.

Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

a 1 and 2 only
b 2 and 3 only
c 1 only

correct answer in answer key is A but it should ideally be C because Doddabetta is third highest peak of peninsular india
Meesapulimala
Meesapulimala (Idukki, Kerala) is the second highest peak of Peninsular India with an elevation of 2640 metres above sea level. Doddabetta (Nilgiri, Tamil Nadu), located near Ooty, is the third highest peak with an elevation of 2,637 metres.
