CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Moderator Update: This thread has crossed 1 million views and has thousands of comments slowing down the website. We are closing this and moving to the next thread

Good morning Fellas :)
Taking it a bit slower today. As Neyawn says, you dont have to be slow and steady, rather SLOW BUT STEADY.

Targets for 30/7/21

  • Themes of history -Part 1 (finish it)
  • Polity PYQs of what has been revised till now
  • May2020-July2020 current affairs revision- analyse mistakes and weak areas
  • March 2021 CA Questions (atleast 50 que)
  • Geography full length mock
  • Finish PT365 polity

@LetsGetThisBread You were in puppy paradise :)
Also
@nerdfighter I wonder whats with 2.6km and 2.8km ?? Why not whole numbers??? like 3km or 2 km or 2.5km...

I am really sorry for bothering but I have been meaning to ask this question for a long time. How are you guys able to complete PT 365 and bulky books of history in a day? It takes me 3-4 days to complete a PT magazine and its revision takes min 2 days.

Three reasons for this in my case

  1. Filter out irrelevant info. If you're good at it then 70-80% of PT 365 is pretty useless.
  2. Your CSE attempt matters. This would be my second attempt and I when I read this year's Pt365, everything seemed to be pretty redundant. For example, in economy they've given a simple current event related to IBC. It was followed by 1-2 pages of static portion regarding IBC. Having covered all this last year and made notes out of previous PT365, I didn't see the point of doing reading that again.
  3. Revising seems tedious to revise 100page doc but if you make notes out of it, task becomes easier. Since you don't see irrelevant content anymore and focussed only on those crucial info.

PS- I made notes out of PT and mocks into onenote last year so it doesn't take much effort and time now.

Thank you for this idea of making notes. I was already fretting over how to complete monthlies and now I have a got a plan.

Anddd Sindhu won! I couldn't be much happier. Just saw her match. 2nd innings was nail biting but she did it again!

Lovline Borghain into semis. Wow! Our girls are again making history. I so wish we have some boys too! Bajrang Punia remains a hope and so is our hockey team :)

And Manu Bhakar out :(

Sindhu's grit & intensity was just something else. Specially the way she came back in the second set. Might face the top seed in the semis. That will be another game to watch!

And yes, be it men or women just get us the medals haha :D

Yeah. Waiting for tomarrow :). I was literally biting my nails in the 2nd set.

We want medals and only medals now. I think 3 are confirmed. Lets hope for more :)

I also take around 2-3 days per PT, despite repeated revision of my C/A, but since I know that I make to do a good job of revising. Limited, but thorough revisions is my strategy

And how Sindhu and her coach reacted on scoring the game point. Oooof, felt what happiness we might've post-selection. Motivation along with the guilt of watching matches since morning xD

Reaction of her coach. Woww! I was thrilled. Sindhu was calm and composed but coach. It showed how proud and how happy he was.

Guilt ki baat na kare.

Edit : Oh I just saw right now. Reaction of sindhu was Ooof! I focused on coach hence couldn't see her rxn.

How all of this is wanting me to return to the sport I love. Badminton and cricket have been my love always and how I miss them :(

I agree with the coach expressions being more amazing. It's the top seed tomorrow, let's hope for the best.

For about 30% of the time today, my attention was very scattered. The lecture played on & I just went through the motion of watching it just because I had to — like an atheist son in a Hindu family at the time of some Puja. He neither understands nor does he have any interest in the alien-sounding words being chanted.

Or maybe, it was just that some of the subject matter was too boring.

--

This is a productive dictum I learned recently from Joey Schweitzer. It goes like this: "That which costeth energy giveth energy". He says that when you feel tired, do something that needs you to expend some energy like go out for a walk or go for a run or workout. And you'll feel less tired after that. You can also use it as a mid-day reset. It is a very counter-intuitive idea but It seems to be working, at least for now. Maybe, it's just placebo and it is working because I want it to work. Maybe.

__

Also got this as gift today. I wanted to put everything aside and start reading it. :D

You can write roughly during lectures it helps me to keep concentrated ( I wander more when I just underline or just listen it without writing )

True. I take some notes too on my desktop when watching the videos. That does help. But subah was a little distracting.

I could have studied more. I'd say I'm going at 60-70% of my ideal intensity. I'm going to increase this little by little, day by day.

Revising from Ca monthlies. Some extra info in form of maps, tables etc is given in PT. But as goes the saying a bird in hand is worth 2 in bush. To bhagwaan ka naam lekar I am giving PT a pass.
