Consider the following statement about Pegasus which has been in news recently.
1- It is a software especially designed for cyber surveillance only.
2- It can be installed either physically or virtually.
3- The installation of software require multiple clicks by the targetted person.
4- It employs Zero Click attack.
Select the correct option.
a- 2,3,4
b-1,2,4
c-1,2,3
d- 2 and 4 only
It looks like B. I don't know about any other use of Pegasus other than cyber surveillance.
1. Which of the following provisions of constitution have a bearing on education?
1. DPSP
2. Rural and ULBs
3. 5th schedule
4. 6th schedule
5. 7th schedule
options:
(a) 1 and 2 only
(b) 3,4, 5 only
(c) 1, 2, and 5 only
(d) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
The key printed in the book says (c) but why won’t it be (d)?
2. Is there a mention of no-confidence motion in the constitution?

I think the options are framed incorrectly. Schedule 6 clearly says that ADCs can make laws on primary and secondary education. Schedule 5 is not concerned with education however. Its powers are much more limited wrt 6th schedule.

This a PYQ from 2012 and 5th schedule areas in MH, AP and TL do have limited functions wrt improving technical education (I don’t know if that counts?)
Functional chromosomes can be created by joining segments of DNA taken from cells of different species.(UPSC 2019)
This statement is incorrect. But arent all GM crops created by joining DNA segments of different species? Bacteria and plant are different species.
True , I think that's what Recombinant DNA means

Official key has given 'd' as the answer. Please cross verify doubtful questions with official answer key as most books don't bother to cross check.

There is no mention of no-confidence motion but (apparently) it is implicitly implied by the constitution (A75)

Thanks even I felt it was wrong in the book. Will do so

So does an implicit mention also qualify as a mention?
So does an implicit mention also qualify as a mention?
I think if the question specifically asks about it being mentioned, we'll have to say no. However, if a question asks whether it is a part of constitution, we'll have to say yes.
I've tried to rationalise it by thinking of how terms like judicial review, rule of law are considered to be a part of constitution despite there being no mention :)

In this question, all other options could be eliminated and we would be left with only this option. Also, a functional chromosomes does notonlycontain DNA, it also needs histones, proteins, ion etc.
Ohh. Damn. If the answer key says so, then I'll consider myself corrected.1. Which of the following provisions of constitution have a bearing on education?

Answer is option D, Pegasus can be used as an instrument for cyber attacks, cyber terrorism etc.
