@D503 not yet in India
Then are gig workers casual workers? Since they are paid on a daily wage basis?
Altho they can be in organised and formal sector (say working for zomato or Amazon).
@Shailputri trade and commerce in foodstuffs comes under concurrent list. Article 301 also empowers Centre to legislate wrt freedom of trade, commerce and intercourse.
Right @necromancer .
Unlike other model acts, 97th act are mandates on state. Subjects under state list are being silently hijacked.
we are small group of students preparing for UPSC 2021. We want to collaborate with interested candidate for the same.
what is collaboration
1) daily 1 UPSC prelims test
2) will try to finish Vision IAS and InsightsonIndia test
3) will solve prelims test at same time to ensure discipline
4) will equally divide 100 question among students and then every student will brief or teach about the question and its solution to group (this way we will reduce time of discussion)

For the Agri laws, Inter State Trade & Commerce is a subject under the Union list under the 7th schedule.
This was the justification the government gave, not sure if it will hold up in court.
A friend made me realise that not all trade is going to be inter state and hence this wasn't correct. Apologies. As someone already mentioned above, it does seem that Parliament made use of the item 'Trade & Commerce' under the concurrent list.
Posting it here for clarity:
For GST question if you can eliminate option 2 and 3 you will get the answer. Anything canned can be equated with something we buy at a supermarket which we all know isn’t exempted from GST. Cooked eggs can be equated with buying something at a restaurant which again attracts GST. So I marked option 1. These methods can obviously go wrong but as far as I have experienced it works most of the time.
What is your strategy to deal with such questions...leave or guess? Could you explain with an example by solving these.
1. Selecting items from an uncountable list
2. Arranging states
3. Arranging dates
Generally try to use logic to solve these types of question, you cannot mug up every statistic under the sun. GSDP question, you can straightaway put WB as the lowest of the three logically. Confusion can only arise between UP and MH, MH would logically be higher because Mumbai and other port and industrial cities would push up the GSDP higher. Even with the forest area one, I thought that since its %age: area, the highest should be Chhattisgarh and least would be Maharashtra. If i can use some logic and be somewhat satisfied, only then do I try marking these questions, if my logic feels far-fetched then I leave it.

For The agriculture cess question my logic was, we put cess over the items which are either luxury or sin goods. Apples are consumed by common man and hence it won't be put here. As it had option 1 I might have gone for it.
For GST question : I would have excluded canned fish as it luxury for me. Cooked egg is made even at roadside and newspaper I knew. So I would have gone with 1,2 and 4.
For GSDP questions, it is a tough question, reason being - UP is large state and Maha is financial hub - I would have choose Maha - for port etc + is is one of largest exporting state + financial hub and we know how UP is termed one of the poor states. B/w West bengal and MP - I would have chooses WB, based on similar logic- it is more developed, size is more or less similar to MP (MP>WB) , but still trade etc would have lead me to choose WB.
Essential commodities act - Here I would have kept fodder seed out of bound, I didn't find it worth an essentail commodity and not all people actually need that. Drugs I knew, fertiliser I knew. So elimination would have worked.
The forest areas, would have been a knowledge based - right now I don't remember but these are major states wrt forest cover I would have had remembered them. But if logic was to be used, I would have gone for chattisgarh to be highest, seeing its size and forest (General knowledge - no specific one) and maharastra to be lowest (as MP has the highest forest area)
Edit : Answer bata dijiye. I want to know kahan tak sahi hoti mei.

Super explanation. I will have to check the key from respective tests. Will surely get back with the answers by 9.
Until then, can we have some more logical approach for answering them?
