Bahut din baad thoda maza aa rha hai iss platform pe. Soch rhe hain bahti ganga mein haath dho liya jaaye par phir kabhi aaenge. But, Good discussion guys :pThe organisers of oylmpics should be first tested in various sports to see if they could compete. organisers of world chess championship should be first made to compete against carslen to see if they could win under timed conditions. that should be the parameter to see if they could organise the tournament or not.

Yes, you can say that the muhavara 'angoor khatte hain' also fits in here. But trust me, ye angoor Hai hi nahi, ye kuch aur hi Hai.Jab tak ye ecosystem humare Mann me ye baat internalise karta rahega ki FAULT khud me Hai, tab tak exam ka overhaul nahi hoga.Main agar iss baar select Hota hoon, (bhool bhatke hi sahi), to Mera pehla interview exam ke against hi hoga.
Then I hope you get in this time. We direly need Toppers who can tell the youth that wasting 7 years of your life without any backup in a not so perfect exam process is not worth it. Such words coming from a selected candidate would actually create a ripple effect (Anand Vardhan Rank 7,2016 had already emphasized on this aspect of the exam at Shubhra Ranjan)
We have a trend these days where MOST selected candidates have only one agenda - SELF PROMOTION on social media
Photos are posted with hashtags related to exam instead of touching social issues. The hashtags like #UPSC #LBSNAA have only one purpose & that's to increase their reach & followers
The selected candidates in the present age have created parallel empires on social media. Doctrine of bureaucratic anonymity has lost all meaning. I hope we have few toppers in the coming years who have the guts to criticise these trends as well as the exam process itself (I have literally seen my friend take hair spa & massive make up to appear on TV interviews after 2020 result & it worked as well. She has 300k followers and a lot of I love you mam on her instagram). This is DEFINITELY her personal choice but again this self promotion somehow becomes the PRIMARY motive after the limelight one gets post selection
P.S - I am not against use of social media but the kind of posts officers are posting reveal that the intent is not to increase their approachability & bring in change/reforms. It is simply to get more followers. Also, I don't intend to initiate ANY debate or argument at all. Just saying what I always wanted to🙏

Exam me fault kyu nahi ho sakta? Is UPSC, a god ?
Numerous UPSC members on YouTube have accepted that the process is NOT PERFECT but it's the Best possible way they could think given that they have to 1. Counter coaching 2. Select few candidates every year 3. Keep the exam unpredictable 4. Eliminate a huge chunk & keep cut offs low to maintain prestige of exam
Numerous candidates who have actually gotten ranks have criticised the process. MOST call themselves LUCKY along with being hardworking for a reason. Even coaching classes who sympathise with students have criticised the nature of the exam at multiple points
Remember there are numerous examples in history whose talents remained unrecognised by the systems of those days. Eg - Alfred Wegener, Galileo etc. So UPSC is not a perfect exam at all.
But yes, if you want to believe in the process while you're in this zone to keep the motivation high. Then, you're doing the right thing. Questioning the process while you're in it can actually lower your performance & further reduce your chances of selection. However, I humbly request you not to declare monopoly over truth & reject the experiences of others.
This is the prime reason for major mental health issues among aspirants where they are blamed by parents, friends & peers for their failures despite them giving everything they could to this exam. In my opinion, This exam is a little different & uniquely uncertain where no one can guarantee success despite you studying 25 hours a day
