[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Pure gold. Thank you so so much for writing this. Can't express how much this means to me, how much I needed this (and many others I am sure). Just thank you. :)

Would love to get some pointers on a problem I've been facing.

This is my first attempt, I couldn't give many tests earlier since I had to focus on completing the basic books. Now I've started giving tests (Vision Test Series, open mocks and Abhyaas) but the problem is that I can't find enough time to revise the notes I've made due to which I don't see my marks increase and even lose out on key concepts that I've read already. How would you suggest I manage this trade off between revision and daily tests?

A key bottleneck is that it takes me 4-4.5 hours to complete the test analysis. I am working on reducing this to find more time.

Thank you!

My father's office was sealed today due to two staff members testing Covid positive. My father is also feeling a bit unwell and will get tested in a couple of days 😬 I'm sure many aspirants are facing similar problems. Good luck to everyone in these hard times.

Yes I am also anxious due to some issues in covid ward. Hope everything returns to normal.

Hi@Archand , I would suggest you give tests on alternate days.  The remaining time you can use in revising, but do incorporate previous year papers in your revision( go back at least 20 years)
For tests too- I'd say give all full-length ones, from a single coaching institute so you can avoid repetition. Do not go around doing random mocks available every day. Pick up vision/insights(Personal choice) and solve all tests from one source.
Reasoning- See since you will be doing full-length ones, coaching x will not repeat a question in its 10 FLTs, but if you do 5 from x and 5 from y, there can be repetition.
(Assumptions I have made here- You have done your basic books already and have solved a few tests too! )
All the best mate! :)

Yes, I have been considering cutting down on tests. Will stick to the one I am doing and focus on PYQs.

Thanks for this, and all the best to you too :D

Hey Everyone! Need little advice here, if someone can please help. I am a first time aspirant, and in my madness to keep preparing for GS I kept on postponing CSAT prep till now. I have given 2 PYQs in exam without studying anything for it, and scored 90-95 marks in both. I have been doing well in English scoring 80-90% correct with it, but seem to have lost touch with maths and have not warmed up to LR till now.

At this stage, my plan is to go topic wise PYQs and cover some 50-60% maths+LR topics by studying it half an hour to one hour a day. (Don't know if this is even possible) This may be utter nonsense because I have not researched very well CSAT PYQs and hence do not exactly know the intensity. Do you think this would be a good a way to go and with the scores I have got, do I need to start csat prep war time or this plan would work? Any high yeilding topics where I can focus on?

If someone can guide, would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

@Howzthejosh we should stop seeing and thinking about this and study instead. These delay related discussions only lead to unnecessary anxiety. Also, it's almost certainly happening now with admit cards out and both Govt and SC determined to have it.

Yeah, they increased the testing. Doubled it in Delhi.  We reached 1lakh cases a day approx yesterday. Hard times. And also 1k+ deaths have become a new norm.
