[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Possible they will open  different entrances to exam center and allow only 100 members

So age and attempts relaxation to those who are facing their last attempt this year?

At least something good came out of this.

But making arrangement for Covid infected people and increasing centres to follow up on maximum 100 students in one centre in just three days time seem to me impossible task.

Age limit will remain same as 32 but those in last attempt and standing on age border may be given extra attempt if they don't appear and upsc finds it possible ,that's the meaning of sc order I feel.

Most important part is that, it seems COVID+ve students won't be allowed to appear for the exam. Any clarity on that?

This post is too dedicated to its moto....was initially started 5 months back to discuss prelims postponement and now with 3 days remaining for Prelims still discussing the same.

😎😎😎

This thread is still serving its purpose to the very last day. We discussed here not only the postponement of CSE but other exams as well like nda, jee neet, clat etc. I think this is the greatest exam postponement threads in the history of exam postponement threads. 😂 Plus, all the truths of universe and wisdom can be found here. If one is so inclined and can go through the 300 odd pages of this thread, he can find so much information over a wide variety of issues. He will ultimately be enlightened😀

Worst part is denying someone to appear in exam....after putting in so much for years and years if a candidate possess high temperature just a day before exam he would not be allowed to appear. I am not able to see the basic judicial rationale in this verdict.

Although I too didn't wanted any further postponement but why only UPSC aspirants are expected to be embodiment of moral principles.

That’s the only part of the order which is unambiguous. COVID+ve won’t be allowed to take the exam.

1. UPSC can only advise.

2. Any attempt is given by the government.

3. It is not possible to single out categories such as last attempters, covid warriors, etc. If attempt is given it will be given to all with corresponding age limit increase : 33/7 for UR.

4. The judges have only considered this flippantly so haven't really gone into the arguments around an extra attempt.

5. A shining example of how the Indian system works : push through to the extent you can. Every body only wishes to complete its documentary duty, such as writing to chief secretary, railway board lol.

6. Lawyers were very shitty. No specific details. They could have mentioned regions where no trains have run since March, there are several. In life, earn money and hire an outstanding lawyer. Judges take big ticket lawyers very seriously.

7. Please study for now. And remember that prelims is only partially about facts and months put in to prepare. On the day of the exam, the pitch changes for most. There are 100 questions, and each question has its answer written bang in front of your eyes. One has to let one's intuition take over for many questions, which is why a relaxed and cool mind is very very necessary. So, be good to yourself for the next 4 days. Self love!

All the best!

Only if you're a diagnosed case will this order prevent you from writing the exam. Having symptoms is not a bar.

@Oatmeal How will they differentiate between who is COVID+ or who is having simple flu or fever? Or will they not allow anyone with a body temperature above 99?
