[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

India has not been running a CAD for last 2 quarters.

Recently before the exam india also had a trade surplus with a merchandise export surplus

So, UPSC maalik. If general sense, coachinh answer will be correct. If UPSC thinks to go by data on 4th, then 3 only.

@Minato going by "the economic history of india part 2" 2 n 3 is the correct answer. Tbh bania has only been colloquially be used as the term for an English agent, but given UPSC takes a wide interpretation it should be fine.

I know it's a little out of track but i seriously don't know what better I could have done or what I can do to improve.

Nothing can anyone do. Conventional sources and CA , even newspapers aren't of any help these days. The 25 sitters, most of us have 23 to 25 of them right. The rest is wild guesswork. Whoever gets a pie of the cake engages in a wankfest. Cutoff will drop below 95 to 92 or 93. A lot simping here will be nowhere to be seen when the results are out. And some will say "boy they got me in paper 2" as if its some big achievement to get btfod by class 10 maths.

If you are above 95 by conservative estimates, just study. You will be in. And a lot of just borderline pre clearing bunch turn out be top rankers every year, year after year

@Sappling bhai, quesion says in reference to intl tradr at present. What does it mean? The average? Or the present data?

QUESTION HAS A VERY BIG TERM , AT PRESENT. IT NEVER SAID ANNUALLY OR ANYTHING.

INDIA DOESNT HAVE A CAD IN THE LAST 2 QUARTERS.

With the respect to the cyber insurance question, the attached pdf contains all the words used by UPSC. The answer should be B) 1, 3, 4. The damage to tangible property (computer in present case) is listed under policy exclusion whereas other three statements are included in the policy coverage.Individual-Cyber-Safe-Policy-Wording.pdf

Buddy, exactly similar thought processes are at work. I don't know what to do even after two years of studying full time. Hovering in ~90s. Last time 80s. I just don't know.

Also regarding the doubtful, am just flagging them. Don't think I am pushing those answers or anything. These questions, if you ask me can have both the answers depending on how you interpret the question. So , no digital lynching, please. 🙂

One reason why cutoffs don't fall despite paper type and nature changing so radically is that the secret about attempting left right and centre in prelims was let out years ago. Many aspirants and most of the old ones play the guessing game now. For these few seats, a sizeable number is bound to get a windfall from guessing. This places a lower bound on the cutoff. It's insane, but what else should one expect from this overhyped exam.

Golden comment,a sizeable no who benefit from wild guessing can put some betteraspirants out of the race.
