[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

@Raillife Accha, I would advise that agar 2 se jyada attempt ho gaye hai toh do take up something else and prepare. I can understand the agony and the pain we feel, when we think our dream is going far away. But seeing the trend of prelims exam, the more calm and stress free you are, better it would be for the  result.

I did the same last year and definitely helped me calm my nerves this time.
All the best!

@Batmaan

3rd attempt hai

are u in job and preparing side by side ?

@PercivalYes, statement 1 is definitely right because
1) Thequestion of age i.e 25 Years is only applicable for membership of the State legislatureandnot for being a Minister in a state(if he is appointed as minister without being member of state legislature)
2) Till the time a person is duly elected to state legislature as its Member,he can continue as Minister at leastfor6 months.
The question of his qualification/ disqualification by virtue of his age(<25 years) will only arise when he will fill election/ nomination papers for the membership of state legislature

The article 85 , I think it nowhere states as -  So, If you simple rely on that  -  Statement is ditto copied and true.
Also, the qualifications of minsiters are nowhere stated. So, A 18 year old person can be minister for 6 months. But, he cant be member of LA .. as he does not fulfills 25 year age criteria.. he has to give up ministership than.
Deduction >>An 18 year person with voting rights can be a minister for 6 months only because any person can be a minister for 6 months without being member of house. The 25 year age criterian comes only in picture when you want to be member of house .. so .. you 18 year old can happy go to be a minister but beyond that -  you have to member of house which you cant be .. so cant continue beyond 6 months in any case.

But, If read it along with RPA and all , Then.. It makes all wrong.

That is why, in the question there is nowhere, any mention of RPA-1951. It only mentions the Constitution.

To add, RPA both 1950 and 1951, do not mention qualification of minister. If we go by constitution alone, no mention either. 25 years age minimum is only through ls route, or it is a convention. One can never find a law which says 25 is minimum age.

For people having doubt regarding different hindi-english versions of questions, I think it is a general instruction from upsc to always follow english translation in case of ambiguity.

and in csat too i am on border

Go fr an IT job n stick with upsc n regulatory bodies prep. Avoid state pcs exms. Vaha pdhai se nahi setting se selection hone ke zyada chances hai. For eg - there r accusations of uppsc selling sdm seats fr 1cr, rfo seats for 14 lakhs etc. Yes ppl do get selected on merit but aise setting wale bhi bohot hote hai. And not to forget the 3-4 yrs cycle in which they complete one recruitment.Compared to that,upsc is atleast a fair body.

@Shubz

regulatory bodies ke exam ka maths amd reasoning is equal to bank level maths and reasoning

iss baar ka prelims toh luck factor pe bht jyada aa gya hai..2-3 tukke jyada/kam lage aur u r in/out..

@gauravbrly409 bhai kya haal hai..i hope u remember me..digital signature pe upsc sala 3 only hi diya ans:)..usi ki wajah se bahar ho gya sala mai last time..

Bro, I am also getting 104.5 . For Gen is that sufficient? Asking because I live in this backward state with no one preparing for upsc around me. So don't have a perspective. Will be happy if you could give some insights

Start preparing for mains.
Cutoff will be 91-95 this year.
UPSC has shown mirror to the ORN and MN factories of coaching wala's.

Thanks a lot brother.

@Aurang_mirasudar Excellent work brother! I'd be thankful if you could clear one doubt I have. In question on malnutrition, the article you have mentioned talks about "delay of marriage, breastfeeding, safe drinking water and vaccination" as solutions. Couldn't find monitoring of PDS by Union Govt anywhere. So, don't you think answer should beB) 2, 3, 4 and 5instead of A) 1, 2, 3 and 4 ?

Question number -13 ..dams ----mentioned in article -----The tendency to hold the maximum amount of water in our reservoirs while ignoring the high risk involved in doing so can be attributed to our over-dependence on hydel projects to produce electricity. Therefore, it is time to think of non-conventional sources for electricity generation such as solar, wind and tidal power......

So option 1 and 2 ....but every institute gave 2 only

@Negan insights saying cut off can be around 95

Als saying it will between 100 - 104

Cut-off wont go more than 95 in any case. Those who are saying otherwise are just playing with fears of aspirants

@Sherkhan1428 @AzadHindFauz

What usually happens when a question or option gets wrongly translated in the Hindi version of the paper. The Gandhi Irwin question has got many Hindi students worrying

Civil Disobedience is notAsahayog Andolan.

So what is likely to happen? Grace Marks, Cancellation of Question, Ya fir Jo chal rha hai chalne do?

Looking at the attitude of upsc,kuch mrks nai milne wale....by the time ans key comes tbtk recruitment of 2020 will be over. But the students can approach court now itself and ensure that court takes assurance frm upsc that no injustice will be done.

Asahyog andolan was non coop mvmt so its a big blunder done by upsc while framing that question.
