[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

it is either 3 or 123 for dams monsoon RC

but since author emphasizes only on creating space prior to monsoon.. will second option be wrong..hence 3 only

For statement 3

The world over, dams are constructed mainly for the purposes of irrigation, power generation, and flood control. While the first two roles are acknowledged, the role of dams in flood control has always been underestimated. It is unfortunate that in both irrigation and hydel projects, flood control is completely ignored. 

For statement 2

However, it is unfortunate that the maximum amount of water is stored in reservoirs even before the close of the monsoon, only to ensure greater electricity generation and irrigation.

(Note risk is due to electricity generation and irrigation both...not hydropower alone)

hence most likely answer is 3 only here

@Harmony I am in early nervous 90s. It was my second but age wise last attempt. So can't convince myself that Jo bhi padho next year kaam aayega. 

Only good thing is I had my leaves already sanctioned. So, need to pull myself up and study till the results. Deep down, it seems a 20:80 scene. Even if by some miracle, I get to write mains, the guilt of wasting one month would be far heavier than handling the uncertainty now. 

So yes, we should not be discussing anything anymore in any case. :-) all the best everyone.

@Rookie hope so yar. pata nahi iss bar confidence nahi aa rha lekin cutoffs dekh kar. pehle 95 cutoff ka to koi soch bhi nahi sakta tha. lekin iss bar neyayn forumias ne 90-92 rakhi hai, hardworking human ne 93+-3 and vision ne 90-95. all are genuine ppl. fir bhi ek bar shankar ki dekh lun to thodi surity aaye. unable to focus.
shayad last year kam cutoff ki wajha se sincere log conservatively attempt krke aaye. unka to patta kat gaya zyada tar. tukke baz and freshers ka mixed bag hoga- ya toh bilkul 110+ ya 90- depending on luck. shayad isliye cutoff neeche jaa rha h. but thats just my analysis, baaki upsc maalik h.

Statement 1 is wrong . Not that statement . Yearbook says mp can give 20lakhs for various articles of handicap people like tricycle , artificial limb etc

@Harmony true. Many of my juniors in my organization gave the pre casually. They did full tukkebaazi and I find 2-3 of them scoring really good. Science ke questions me all d marna hai. This only seems to be the mantra. 

And we fools tried to evaluate every option on its merit and ended up screwing the answers. Khair, no regrets. Whatever happens happens for good. 
UPSC ho na ho, my only goal for the next one month is to inculcated the following virtue in my life

@rafael apart from investing in physical assets, funds can be given for welfare of physically challenged ppl. I think mrunal is thinking too much in this. There is no discrepancy in the question.

brother, i get, even i did such useless research last year. i too was unable to face reality. this question is wrong for me also. there is zero controversy in it. please accept and move on. i know its hard.

ppl are doubting even sunderbans and ghantasala so anything can happen here. only 4 questions remain doubtful as per me- 1.desher katha bengal 2.rukhmabai womens right to ed 3.preamble legal effect 4.minister eligible. no conclusive answer.

i answered MPLAD 3&4 just because the reason Mrunal provided. For me the word "maust be used for durable assets".
In my district, MLADS has been used for even grants to poor people for medical bills by MPs. So , Its not "must be durable" asset. Also, MRUNAL provided documentary evidence for it. I had doubted the statement 3  but thought may be the rules have been chnaged(assumption).

Statement 2 is of course correct and 4 as well ... but 1 is wrong as is 3 as per current rules. But , if one is wrong optionACD are wrong.

Precarious position ...  The word MUST BE is a rider.  1 could be plainly right is "MUST BE " not there.

What I feel , Professors se question mangaane ke baad ... kam se kam ek liguist se verify karwa lena chahiye upsc ki .. ko jo likha hai uska matlab hai jo poochna chaah raha hai professors.
P.S. - Professors usually have poor and workable english except few.
