[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021
Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

After reading this , i am feeling ashamed of studying things all these years so seriously.@Harmony true. Many of my juniors in my organization gave the pre casually. They did full tukkebaazi and I find 2-3 of them scoring really good. Science ke questions me all d marna hai. This only seems to be the mantra.And we fools tried to evaluate every option on its merit and ended up screwing the answers. Khair, no regrets. Whatever happens happens for good.UPSC ho na ho, my only goal for the next one month is to inculcated the following virtue in my life"Giving your best effort even when you are down, uncertain and scared"

enough discussion ho gaya hai imo,jiske bhigs 1 me85-100 and csat me 55-70 is range me ban rahe hai start mains prepration from now only....aaj plan karo nxt 2-3 month and chalu krdo kal se,ab aur discussion/speculation se koi fayda nhi mains padna hlau krdo bhaion
and jinke nhi ban rahe kal se 2021 ke lie chalu krdo

1. MPLADs and NALSA question then stands incorrect. Hope UPSC drops them.
2. My views on so called controversial questions:
(a) AI - 134 are correct (ai cannot create meaningful short stories effectively at present level of technology; wireless transfer of EE to rehne hi do.)
(b) Preamble has no legal effect independently of other parts, so D
(c) just eligible to vote cannot be made a minister, (ismai koi doubt hai hi nhi)
(d) 1884 case only 2 and 3 (age of consent and conjugal only)

What usually happens when a question or option gets wrongly translated in the Hindi version of the paper. The Gandhi Irwin question has got many Hindi students worrying

It's very pathetic. Same with minister question. Question would be dropped for sure.
They take english version as correct and do nothing. Its policy of UPSC. I think , I have read in bada waala notifcation i roughly remember.
This is not a translation mistake. This is blunder.
Especially for paper 1 every year (just for laughs)
after checking answer keys of different institutes (me): okay so 3-4 answers vary which might be doubtful
after visiting forumias (me):all 100 are doubtful!
I am assuming at least 20 to be doubtful.
However, In my attempted questions kitty , only 6 or 7 are doubtful.
I have already deducted .67 for all doubtful abd landed up at clean score of 92.
I think its comforting isnt it???

It was my 3 attempt bus ab jeene ko icha nhi hai
Bhai take coaching for maths and reasoning...it will benefit lot...khud se discipline nahi ata....do everyday 1 hour for few months....
Repeating again:
those who are in borderline in paper 1 or paper 2 or both..just study..instead of looking endless times through solutions.
time is less this time
for CSE any one above 90 has good chance
for IFOS any one with 105-106 has good chance
and specific for paper two - Those who are in 64-65-66 range..just start studying.. RC most Coaching’s get it wrong..every year many who are in this situation end up clearing paper 2
the exam was tough ..both paper 1 and paper 2 was tricky very much...
also with covid lockdowns and additional mental strains, dnt be harsh on urself for not being able to perform well

It wont go to that level . But we shd consider it given many debatable qus.. I myself deducted 2.67 on artificial intellegence question . And the NALSA qus ll most probably get rejected . After modiji introduced ews middle and upper middle class general have bite the bullet .

You are not alone. You have guts to qualify any kind of paper 1. That is gud news.
Bad news- Dont be lazy next time. Dont think you have super human ability to do paper 2 without any practice at all. ( i lost 2017 and 2019 in paoer2 .. learnt the lesson... this time practiced paper 2 religiously .. and got dignified score ... almost all maths correct .. attempted only 5 or 6 passages. Even my all passage go wrong .. I m still above 70)
So, Move on ... Learn about paper 2 practice and get yourself qualified. It is better to accept the mistake due to your delinquency and make the things in next attempt. Acceptance of mistakes is better than remorse for the things we did bad by ourselves.

i have very bleak chances to clear pre
after attempting this pre,i am planning to leave this preparation(nahi ho payega humse) and get back to IT jobs
aur ek man yeh bhi keh raha hai ki ab upsc ke sath sath dedicated baki PSC and non-banking exams ki bhi tayari karu(banks exam ki maths reasoning mere upar se jaati hai )
in upsc i can develop my logical guesses,is exam me bhi i applied some logical guesses and derived the ans,but andh tukka marke ans laanayeh completely us din aapki kisma kaisi hai uspe depend karta hai
seniors plz suggest how to prepare others psc exam and others exam dedicatedly with uspc,jisne qualaified kia ho plz reply....bpsc december me hai

Really can't comment much about that bhai. I hate State pcs exams, simply because they have questions like,
" Gandhi ji ke chashme ka number kya hai "
A ) 1.00022 B) 1.00023 C) 1.00024 D) tum se na ho paayega rehney do
UPSC still gives you the scope for reasoning. State PCS have minimal scope for that and hence i dont get the philosophy behind those exams.
MY suggestion: Your mind right now is bruised and you are hurt a little. Allow it to recover. Let nature take over and allow yourself to heal. If you still have chances to qualify, so be it. Cling on to it and prepare for the next 40 odd days. It will still be a win win at the end of 40 days , even if you don't qualify because you will have momentum and you can carry it into 2021.
Do not take such life altering decisions at this time because you will most likely choose an option which isn't the answer. Make what you will of that advice. But i hope you end up taking an informed decision. Cheer up and bounce back 1000 times harder. My prayers for your well being.

For PSC, I'd like to add ki since there is no attempt issue, just give it on basis of UPSC prep and prepare for UPSC. God knows maybe you can clear prelims and then show your knowledge in mains. Do not do facts all at once. Give it 30 mins a day and in a year or so, you will have enough. But focus on UPSC for at least 1 more attempt. Do not give up too easily bro! We all are in this together!
