Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@dr-ahmednaaz8567people sharing their expected scores on other thread, (all above 800+) is making me more anxious..I thought we had unanimously understood that papers were difficult/uncertain.
@Biryanimafia_exit polls bhot se hote hai sab sahi ho ye bhi jaruri nahi,
last year my analysis was around 800 (with 2017 marking scheme as base) with that i was not goin to clear the mains by 9 marks,
my final score was around 770 not even 5 marks less than written cutoff.
this year my analysis is based upon 2018 marking scheme.
plus i must tell you there are 400 plus people who really got 800 plus even in tough markings of 2018,
abhi to 5 6 ne hi post kiya hai such scores wo bhi barso ki mehnat aur anubhav ke sath,
every other guy ko 800 plus nahi milne wale but still around 10 15 will definitly get 800 plus from active people on this thread its my viewpoint,
jab tak 50 60 such comment na aye tab tak chinta ki koi vishay nahi hai
@sat_009I too agree on this. At least 15 people from this forum may get more than 800 marks.

@Ragshmm yes bro, its impractical and untruth ki people wont cross 800, its a myth, hum sabko apna pata chal jata hai atleast interview call, last year mujhe doubt tha aane wala h ya nahi aur wahi hua, nahi aya,
bus rank me kuch samajh nahi ata kayi bar people think they will get 140 in essay get 160 and those who think will get 150 get 110, anything can happen but probability of happening across the board in all papers is very difficult
@dr-ahmednaaz8567ofcourse they do bhai, but that's after the result is declared.. Before the result if in unanimity 800+ is usual expectation then the papers weren't as uncertain as I thought..to each his own!
I have only one mains to compare with (2017-792 marks)..this time around .essay went fine, gs was like everyone else's, law paper 2 went not so good, so a bit of apprehension..what about you?

@sat_009thanks a ton! Funny thing is I can't remember how my optional paper 2 went in '17..the score was fine (136) and it didn't go well then either. I have seen 265-305 marks in law over the years, around my friend circle. Not less, never more. That's not very good but I think it's still decent for selection, may be?

@Biryanimafia_yeah there are many among top 100 from law optional too, keep your hopes high sometime we dont estimate correctly aur bhul sakte hai.

800+ is not in unanimity. Not everyone has posted this much marks. Mine paper was so so. Can't say anything.

@sat_009but sir one or two paper sometimes is enough to throw us out of either mains or final list. If someone is getting 90s in essay last yr, very difficult for him to get a rank. Combined with one more paper like gs1 can even result in not getting through the mains also.
