Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread

Wrote essay on courage to accept wala topic. Started with the story of Ashoka and then came to pre-modern history and wrote about social evils like sati, whose acceptance and will to change made society better.
Basically made 10-12 arguments from different dimensions by examples, like Pakistan (who doesn't has courage and will), judicial issues, farmers issues, climate change, etc.
Ended with some quote I heard from Anudeep sir, if we deny our failure where is the scope of improvement.

@abhishek_pI mean the example you started with talks about technology, not directly about artificial intelligence, so strays a little from core topic.

@surendra19I wrote on similar lines....I started with a fictitious story about 4 to 5 lines by which I explained the meaning of given quote ...then I gave definition of courage motivation and success and finally motivation plus courage as success then I explain in social economical etc dimensions...given examples of RAJA RAM MOHANROY ,VIDYASAGAR,INdia food security scenarios,our economic reforms story,etc later barriers to get courage and to motivate like for women patriarchy ,violence etc and solutions to remove barriers and finally ended with conclusion

First attempt wala gamble hai..chal gaya to theek nahi to courage to accept what went wrong and dedication to improve

@surendra19i also gave isro eg. Then whats courage and why accept, then wrote about accept-improve for great men(mk gandhi)-common individuals (our daily lives)- nation (made by individuals-Japan eg)
then what after success-courage to accept(successfull business impact on env. Lives of people and dedication to improve the same). Then a conclusion that I dont remember

Developed vs Developing world in wto , ......etc ...Than a conclusion with सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः sloke

Only few of us wrote on individual vs society and biased media..i am one of those...i hope that less number of essays on these topics give some advantage !!

I always wonder how so many people remember their answers post 70 days and how so many people say they wrote same example after one says so.
I interacted with 2014 ranker 76 long back and he couldn't remember his answer even after 20 days.For intelligents this much hint is enough what I M trying to say.
Anyways I know people who wrote stories in 2018 and still managed to get in 130s.
Let's see who scores more I. E stories wale who r not on this forum or those who all wrote kalams and isro example.

@atuljibiased media wala was I think the toughest topic. Maintaining a balanced view in this topic is itself an art as we all know the current state of Indian media and reason behind its biasness which we cant openly say in upsc paper(imo)

@atuljiI wrote essay on biased media...I wrote a very straight essay with a stand that Meadia is a protector of democracy but biased media as a threat to democracy....

I wrote on individual vs society (just remember that I wrote 1 gandhi quote and later covered some dimensions) and health and education wala (here just remember I wrote 1 story and 2 page worth of data etc etc etc)

@Dreadfuli began with general introduction about socialization then social control..gave a historical bg about rise of societies from individuals then old and modern law system etc etc nd how individual n society are complementary ...this much i remember.

@bevancomessay is something, we can easily recall about what we wrote in exam as the info is much less. This is not the case with GS..where one hardly one can recall even faintly each and every point they wrote..after 60days
