Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@destinirules2354still unable to find the reason
but have written direct essays this time, not too much going here and there or unnecessary anecdotes just being to the point give more marks aisa feel hua mujhe,
last year i wrote flowery anecdotal things.
@sat_009very unsure as some people got decent marks with same content or structure still can't give excuses in upsc i made certain changes, this time i have played safe so that atleast average marks be awarded
@destinirules2354in 2017 i wrote direct essays. I don't have good writing skill. So in 2017 in intro I simply explained what I understand by the heading of the topic. n wrote wat i am going to write next. I got 141 in that year.
In 2018 i got influenced by others. I started with story which was not good. Poor story+ more space. Introduction ended up in disaster.
In 2019 attempt I went back to basic.

@sat_009I have used real incidents in both of my essays .so a bit nervous about the outcome after observing posts here.

@zombielandYeah. So this time I wrote introduction for both essays as real examples rather than a fictional story. And kept the intro as short as possible. Like just a para
Dont know whether it'll work or not. Last time one essay I began with a fictional example and the other a real one from the history. Ended up with 118. I think the major fault in those was that the introduction was way too long.
Anyway this time I am hoping that I will get atleast some decent marks in essay.
