Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@AnduinI think now the problem has been resolved, but all pages were earlier getting redirected to install page
@surendra19any info from your friend?
@AnduinNot asked him. Don't want to embarrass myself, if can't clear and his father asks about being impatient.?
@pysh12950@Jharsugudai never went beyond 80s but i also never crossed 15-16 questions..feeling good about completing the papers except 1-2 questions...but still thinking kbhi tests me achhe ni mile marks toh konsa jaadu abhi ho jaega !
@Aplharomeou r in this time if that's the case
@surendra19
. Maybe one last time for quest members?
@atuljiu said that u never crossed 15-16 questions in test series but completed upsc papers...jaadu hoga
Be it their PT or Mains Test Series, if you do their material you'll score good (100+ in pt; 85+ in gs mains)...tried and tested. Ese questions poochte hain test series mein ki matlab original exam clear krne ke chances reduce ho jate hai.
But kyuki darr sabko lagta hai (including myself) every year 50pc toppers would have attempted their test series, thereby giving them legitimacy, when the result is declared... vicious cycle hai baba
P.S: I had 52 in Gs2 and 54 in Gs3 at Vision, 15 days before exam, finally 107 in gs2 and 94 in gs3 (mains '17)
@pysh12950karlo bhai. Kyuki sab karte hain. 2-3 questions bhi aagye Mains365 se toh baki logo ko edge mil jayega.
That's the only reason why most people do Mains 365...also, psychological satisfaction. In my opinion monthly magazines could be skipped, but then again I am just an aspirant like everyone else..better still if a selected person answers such question
@Jharsugudabt kanishka kataria got above 100 in all full length tests few days before mains
@pysh12950said inMains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread:
@Jharsugudakanishak has written only 7-8 papers and in 3 of them crossed 100 ...in only 1 he got 67 and people generalise it
This.
He wrote 8 vision Full Tests and got more 100 in most of them. Even 110 in some of the tests.
and I believe only in GS3 he got around 70. So if you comapre, apart from GS3, his final marks had a good correlation with the vision test series marks.
I don't know why people generalize it
@pysh12950my scores in visionias tests were between 90-100 in almost all tests. I think this is because of their checking pattern. they give marks like 3.5, 4, 5 and 5.5, 6.5, 7.5. Ended up in getting similar marks across all the papers. I tried to cross 100 mark bt never succeeded
@atuljibut 90s in 2015-16-17-18 mains would mean very different each year. So it does boil down to marking...my limited experience agrees with the general understanding that says essay ethics optional is the key... etc. Also, can't comment on paper completion in itself how effective it is since I did get 90s when almost everyone around my got 110+ in gs3 in '17. So content is indeed the King!
@utkarsh_mishrayes consistently getting above 100 in visiontest series (if completed within 3hrs) is a positive sign and should be reflected in actual exam
@utkarsh_mishraI do agree with the essence of your comment, but would still want to say from personal experience that getting 100 in Vision Tests isn't that difficult either when 18 out of 20 questions are from Mains365 across gs2 and gs3 full length, i've written over 30+ tests in 3 years time and concluded this. Along with inputs from fellow aspirants at test center... this time around I did get 90+ in Vision consistently but am honestly not positive considering the kind of questions UPSC asks and what these coaching wallahs sell us...
