Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@zombielandlast year ke comparision me scores badhenge, as 10 markers were relatively easy
@TETRACYCLINEdiffers from year to year, 2017 gs too was decisive, in 2018 essay and optional had more importance
@Asli_hai_sabkaun kaun cricket likhega apni hobby mein? Usi pe discussion Kar lete hain. Badhiya timepass hoga.
@atulji@zombielandDidnt you all follow Vivek Bhasme's book?
@VivekanandShai to sabke pas ye, maine padhi bhi hai ek bar
@sat_009Ap kehna chahte hain ki Anthro ke scores pichhli bar se behtar honge!!
I just wish if it outperforms its previous records!
@RealMangoMe!!.
Didnt do well, had started preparing from Jan 2019.
So was very well underprepared. Focused on paper 1 for most of the time. Had done okayish in Paper 1. Was able to attempt 220 marks
Paper 2 - I neglected 1947-91 part due to paucity of time and thought with budget,Eco Survey and current events I would just bare thru. But alas.
So no hopes
@VivekanandSi did...for contribution of indian anthropologists..but didn't attempt that topic in paper.
@VivekanandS10 mark Qs are the key to very good score in optionals,
becoz they are compulsory,
in others we have options
last year anthro marks in general kam the 2017 se (number of people with 300 plus score in 2018 were half that of people with 300 plus score in 2017, despite increase of 200 around candidates in 2018)
@kochikaameDid you opt for any test series ? Dont have any background in econ at all except for couple of electives I took in engineering. Solely took this optional out of interest. But I took coaching from Vibhas sir.
I feel the guidance part is lacking in the mkt. Would be glad if you could shed light on how did you practice and have you given mains before. Others kindly chip in if you have any other ideas.
Paper 1 I had done okay to some extent. Was able to understand and comprehend models well. Just requires practice. But due to horror Paper 2, thinking to change optional. Felt ashamed tbh.
@visionmanI attempted around 230 marks in paper 1 but quite unsure of what I have written, to think of it now
Paper 2 I have heard is not scoring
What are the average marks people get in eco optional though?
@paranthapijjamain likhoonga
. 2002 se Dekh Raha hoon
@visionmanhaha even I took classes from vibhas sir. Realised his notes were not enough at all
@visionman@visionmanI had economics along with PCM in class 12th and like you, I also opted for some economics electives in engineering. I largely prepared on my own without any coaching and interest was a big factor for me as well. I hadn't opted for test series but end mein I joined bliss point test series just to have a look at their test papers. I did attempt all the past year papers though and got it checked from a professor I know.
Yup, guidance is lacking. It's not a very popular optional and is time taking too. But I've now spent a good bit of time on it starting 2016. Was feeling confident too for paper 1 but one big issue was a lot of time spent on thinking in the exam. Let's see how that goes. I was satisfied with my paper 2 though, particularly section A but don't know about their marking scheme in that.

Yea Paper 2 me kuch zyada cover nahi kiya.
Paper 1 mein thoda theek kiya except Development part
@kochikaameYea time taking tha plus i was shocked to see that mathematical question. Did you give mains before ?
@kochikaamehow was the bliss point test series? I had joined vajiram.
@kochikaameit was funny how I always completed the tests in time but in the final exam, could not complete paper 1
Mainly because as you said, it required a lot of thinking.
@VivekanandSyes I have read. Paper 1 is basically compilation of P.Nath only.
However paper2 is not gud
@visionmanit was my first mains.
