No crct answer isD.

In formulating the recommendations in respect of the level of minimum support prices and other non-price measures, the Commission on Agriculture Costs and Price (CACP) takes into account the various Terms of Reference (ToR) given to it in 2009.

Accordingly, it analyses:

1)Demand and supply;

2)Cost of production;

3)Price trends in the market, both domestic and international;

4)Inter-crop price parity;

5)Terms of trade between agriculture and non agriculture; and

6)Likely implications of MSP on consumers of that product.

It may be noted that the cost of production is an essential factor that goes as an input in

the determination of MSP, but it is certainly not the only factor that determines MSP.

No crct answer isB.

Tropical cyclones are violent storms thatoriginate over oceans in tropical areas and move over to the coastal areasbringing about large scale destruction caused by violent winds, hefty rainfall and storm surges.

They are known asCyclones in the Indian Ocean, Hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean, Typhoons in the Western Pacific and the South China Sea, and Willy-willies in Western Australia.So,Statement 1 is correct.

The cyclonic wind movements areanti-clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere(This is due to theCoriolis Force). So, Statement 2 is incorrect.

Tropical cyclones usually form in the western tropical oceans as:

• The depth ofwarm water (26-27°C)should extend for 60-70 m from surface of the ocean/sea, so thatdeep convection currents within the waterdo not churn and mix the colder water below with, the warmer water near the surface.

• The above condition occurs only in western tropical oceans. Warm ocean currents(easterly trade winds push ocean waters towards west) that flow from the east towards west forming a thick layer of water with temperatures higher than 27°C. This supplies enough moisture to the storm.

• The cold currents lower the surface temperatures of the eastern parts of the tropical oceans, making them unfit for the breeding of cyclonic storms.

Thus, statement 3 is correct.

@TheCivilGuy yes crct answer isB.

Collective farming or the model of Kolkhoz was introduced in theerstwhile Soviet Unionto improve upon the inefficiency of the previous methods of agriculture and to boost agricultural production for self-sufficiency. The farmers used to pool in all their resources like land, livestock and labour. However, they were allowed to retain tiny plots to grow crops in order to meet their daily requirements.

Yes crct answer isD.

Noise pollution is the excessive noise that may harm the balance of animal or human life.The harmful effects on the human body include an increase in breathing rate, constriction of blood vessels, disturbance in movement of the digestive canal. Prolonged exposure to high noise level can permanently damage hearing. The Government has initiated Green Muffler scheme to reduce noise pollution by planting 4-6 rows of trees around the noisy areas. Under this scheme,Ashoka and Neem plants are being planted near the house or residential areas to curb the noise pollution.
