Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Thats all for today. Hoping to get in the groove and stay in it for the next 70 days, fingers crossed. Let’s get this bread folks!
Done for the day! Bread was got today guys!
I am sorry I am not able to take any information in. I feel tired today. And angry for some specific reason. I should just go sleep and begin again tommorow. I really didnt want an unproductive day today because I am going to take a day off this week on my birthday. And i wanted it to be guilt free. But it is what it is.
One positive thing was focus was top notch today for 90% of my work time.
Also I began my work day 3 hours after I woke up. I went for breakfast outside wirh my didi and jiju & we ended up roaming around the town for 2 hours in search of that perfect chai.

P.S. Does anybody feel their self esteem is aligned with productivity? Like you feel you arent worth anything if you arent productive?
I do, a lot. I feel like I should be able to sit and study given that I don’t really have any other obligations, and all the privilege to boot. But on days that I feel unproductive, I try to find out why I feel that way (my journal is my go-to space for this) and I just let myself feel all my emotions in the privacy of my room. I usually have a massive but good cry and then use that as a reset counter for the next day. I find crying really helps in a cathartic manner (I’m not advocating it, but I find it helps). I also tend to write out all my negative emotions in my journal (it’s usually quite a lot of dramatic tearful typing) and then forget about it, till the time I can approach them in a more calm and dispassionate manner. If it triggers I don’t read it, but often reading it back again helps me understand my own inner workings, sort of like an SOP for future situations.
@calvinhobbes @Archand This was a game to remember. Not because Sindhu won bronze but because of the perseverance, grit and patience she showed. Yesterday's game broke hearts of all but Sindhu came back strongly.
The way she played. I was amazed. Her smashes were too good for the opponent to pick. And ofcourse the cross court shots. She even played those back hand shots so perfectly and sometimes she hit cross court shots through them as well.
Whaaatt a matchh!! And even I made the decision to watch from now on every other match of Sindhu. If not every , atleast the semi-finals and finals.
@Archand that was the impact over most of us who followed Sindhu.
@calvinhobbes I have very high hopes with this olympics. We have men's hockey. We have wrestling and some new as well. Read about Kamalpreet kaur and others. Lets see. Kaash 6-7 aa jaye.
Sadly I couldn't watch this match since I was out. Missed a good game. I still remember the cheer for Sindhu in the hostel common room for her Rio matches. Probably will never get that environment while watching any match.
Yeah, kamalpreet is there too. Medal hopes are still many. Overall we made progress in many uncharted territories, so not so bad even without medals.

No. There is always a next day. Next time. More importantly, brain like any other resting muscle should be growing even when we are not exercising it. In our case, consolidating all the info we bombard it with on a daily basis.
Difficult part would be to come back to work after a day's rest, no?#GyanOfTheDay
Ah. So many bdays coming up this month on Forum then! @sjerngal @nerdfighter Kis din hai janamdin?
Fine progress but not satisfactory. Let's see how much I get it done the next day. Completed budget and done 1/4th of onenote. Also, I forgot about survey so had to add one more day for eco :p
I'll start practising 1 hour of physics daily to maintain the familiarity post prelims. Maybe from 2nd august.
1/08
- Eco (2/4) - all these sources needs to be completed in 3 days
=>Vivek singh book
=>vivek 550
=>mrunal handouts + win21 updates
=>class notes and onenote
=>eco survey
Went to a relative's place in the evening so missed out on finishing major portions. Onenote completed, means pretty much whole eco. I'll skip vivek book since that would be just a repeat and already read that twice ig. Left with just mrunal, vivek 550 and eco survey.
2/08
- Eco (3/4)
=>mrunal+win21 updates
=>eco survey
=>vivek 550
- Epfo 40mins
If lucky, eco will be finished tomorrow. Still on track wrt broad framework.
Giddy up boi, Giddy up!
As KK quotes in song Aashayein, "Kuch aisa krke dikha, ke khud khush jo jaaye khuda"

Sorry didn’t post targets yesterday but was able to complete SFG targets and then watched Men’s hockey match but didn’t watched Sindhu’s match because yesterday I promised to not watch in future as I have watched her match two times live in Rio and Tokyo and she lost both times
But after she lost her match in semis I was very frustrated ( not on her but on us all Indians and our country and govt) as she was the best hope for Gold medal and after that match asked a question that despite being nearly 1.3billion population ( highest youth population in world) why we are not able to win even one GOLD medal whereas even Bermuda ,Fiji ,Uzbekistan ,Ethiopia,Latavia and many more small countries do so then why can’t we) in Olympics ,what are the lacunae’s in our sport system and how we can overcome them
and you will be surprised that we can’t find any big brand (like Nike ,Adidas,puma) for sponsorshing our kit also
So ,spent most of the time in calling coaches and players and my sister to know what are various problems and what’s need to be done

Thats the problem when you judge Indian sports only from the prism of Olympics.! Yes Olympics is a big event no doubt about it. Winning gold adds a lot of prestige! But Indian sports have been doing good in all the world Championship even few days ago some one won gold in a world Championship I don't remember the name exactly. In sports winning and losing are the two outcomes some day you and some day you lose. Just because one lost direct questioning of a country ability would be wrong. Plus in Olympics we give too much emphasis on some sports every year badminton shooting after Abhinav bindra sir won and boxing wrestling but there are many other sports where less emphasis is given. You look at USA they don't have a player who can give tough competition in badminton but still are more and more gold. So my point is diversification of sports is important. When sports will be diversified more people will go. When more people will participate more chances of medal. It's similar to UPSC people attempting maximum question to push up score. I think India is on a way of diversification of sports especially after CA bhavani devi participation. Mark my words India is going to see a lot more medals in coming 2024 2028 2032
Ah. Yesterday could easily have been a 10 hour day. I messed up the last session because a friend offered to explain a few geography concepts. Once we were done with it, we wasted time talking about college days! I studied around 8 hours. Going to skip mathematics today, because the efficiency has been very low there. Perhaps a break might help me get back in the groove. Also, today I'll be reducing the time spent on study because I might have to head out later.
Targets: 7-8 hours
- Finish 2020 Abhyaas Tests Revision
- Try to finish May 2020 CA
All the best people! Wishing everyone a happy & productive August :D
Our mind is so fickle, you give the mind an option to do something other than studying and it takes you to so many different places. Yesterday, the only bread that was got was the one that comes with Alfredo Pasta while watching the match. Congrats everyone, yesterday was exactly the kind of day our sports fraternity needed!
Targets: 9-10 Hours
- Finish 2020 Abhyaas Tests revision
- SFG Revision (Phase 1 & 2) - 4 tests
- Finish May 2020 CA (Try)
- Maths Statics & Dynamics PYQs
Shifting the emphasis to prelims now, will give mathematics minimal time. Yes, that will make the targets go slower but I think now is the right time to prioritise prelims. It is almost here, hope it brings out the best two months in us :)

There is nothing that can better describe the beauty of sport than what she has done and what she will do. A lot of commentators also appreciated her confidence with playing along the net. I think that is a big change from the 2016 Sindhu. She has done so much with her smashes, her reach in the court and her perseverance. What will happen once she acquires more skills in the following three years? Well, she is making us all dream!
And I think it is time we should stop crushing on Sindhu's game here or else the non sport fan Forumites will throw us out of this thread :P
