CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Hello everyone,

I have been an avid reader of this thread and the past 2021 thread for more than a year now. Look forward to life tips, motivation, study hacks and beautiful pictures being posted every single day.

Are some people in this thread pursuing Masters/other Higher education courses alongside( or in the past) ? If so, can you please give tips on how to manage exams/assignments together with prelims preparation where both require certain level of intense efforts ?

@Capedcrusader1 I’m solving vision as well. Started with polity tests and yeah, one test/ day for a subject. Then i shall pause to revise another subject.

@Capedcrusader1 No, twice a week. This was just my first full test. Planning to do this every week.

I gave test 24 of vision (full test). Didn't score too well though :(

Hii people!
Is there anyone who is preparing from home completely alone….. idk i feel this isolation is taking a heavy toll on me. Is it only me or anyone of you have experienced similarly?

@Capedcrusader1 I’m not doing FLTs either. In fact, I don’t even do all sectional ones. I usually skip geography, science and sometimes ecology as well. I use them as question banks / source of information instead of testing myself. Last year, I skipped vision FLT totally (or may be did 2-3 of them) because they were getting unnecessarily difficult, asking obscure questions trying to replicate upsc.

I read newspaper daily and note down any factual stuff. I do go through vision monthly’s but selectively. I’ll do the same with PT 365 of environment, economy and science. Didn’t focus  much on PT 365 for the last two years and scored above cut off. I focus more on my notes (from newspaper + monthly’s + from Tests).

Economy, I don’t have a specific source.I studied with Mains perspective so comprehensive coverage. Mostly newspaper + google + tests + topics like agriculture from vision notes + budget/ eco survey + PYQs.

Hey, I felt quite very much the same around Feb-March last year. For me, posting my daily to-dos on 2021 thread helped a lot. I felt like I was part of a peer group. Made some really good friends on the way. It can be very difficult finding a peer group in tier two cities. And if you just post here asking for people to be part of a peer group, that too won't help much as most people think the other people aren't as serious as them and the group would only bring them down. So, maybe just start by posting regularly and updating your progress.

Could not revise environment sincerely, gave the test instead. This week will be all about getting rid of backlogs.

Targets:

  • SFG: Test + Analysis
  • Newspaper
  • Finish Agriculture
  • Environment Revision
  • Miscellaneous tidbits

@Jammu good to see you here. Really appreciate the wake ups. All the best :)

February was good for the first 20 days and then it all went haywire. Need to ensure consistency. Had massive inertia to do anything yesterday so I did the SFG test, newspaper and substitute agriculture with studying the budget. No progress on environment.

Targets:

  • Finish Agriculture
  • SFG Test Analysis
  • Environment (if tired, substitute with ES)
  • Newspaper
  • Plan for the month

Hoping for a much better march. All the best everyone!

Did not find time to do environment, will try to finish it by tomorrow now. Other targets done.

Targets:

  • Environment (1/2)
  • SFG Backlog (1/2)
  • Newspaper
  • Miscellaneous

Finished all the targets. Today seems to be a difficult day, will try to pivot from the bad start.

Targets:

  • Environment (2/2)
  • Finish SFG Backlog (2/2)
  • Newspaper
  • Miscellaneous

Going back to ambitious targets now or else I'll keep faltering. Today, I could not finish Environment (Barely touched it) but did the rest. Disappointing day nevertheless. By the way, thanks for the wake ups. Will try to do better tomorrow.

Targets:

  • Finish Environment (2/2)
  • Finish S&T Backlog
  • Mock Test Analysis (if time)
  • Economic Survey (1/3)
  • Newspaper
