Insights have launched its INSTA 2.0 and 3.0 Plan, integrating mains and prelims and also optional. Looks pretty decent. Thoughts here?

I was following a similar routine myself with ethics, optional and GS with bit of answer writing daily. Doing current affairs magazine on top of that… not too sure I’ll be able to pull that off, but will try.

What do you think about the utility of the plan in general?

@PursuitofHappyness @Aquaman  your thoughts?

The timetable is fine. Not sure how manageable is finishing magazines alongside ethics, optional, and GS in a day but.

That said, if they’ve asked to cover topics from Secure, I’m not doing that. I stay away from that stuff, it’s just too much content, it fuels my FOMO. What I’ll do is I’ll simply follow their plan using my own sources/notes, and write the answers.

I do this with their prelims plan as well. Works fine.

I am sure many out there can do this efficiently but to my mind, this is trying to do everything at the same time and then probably not being able to do anything. Thode bahot tweaks toh bante hain as one warrants. But at the same time, what stands out is the topic wise coverage. That's a breather for sure. But to follow the entire plan in toto, I am little skeptical.

Aese hee plan ke liye Jigar Moradabadi ne kaha tha ki "aag ka darya hai aur doob ke jaana hai." :P

I am also not an advocate of entirely following in total. But the daily answer writing can surely help. Koshish karunga karne ki. I am not a fan of insights Magazines, hence will not do them! :P

Also can you help me for Post independence society world history Disaster Mgmt .. For this should I refer sstandard Vision VAMs or Onlyias has released their stuff too looks good.

Optional + GS topic daily is already more than enough. Add to that some ethics answer writing, it’s golden. Uske upar kuch bhi, is imaginary :P

I fear a lot of that initiative. I am not versed with GS answer writing but when I see many aspirants posting good answers in comments FOMO hits me. I noticed secure after you mentioned. Intro Conclusion kakuch accha fodder mila to highlight karke rakhunga.. sab plan hai..

True! Sunday essays and then CA magazines also!! Qayamat ki nishani hai ye. Nonetheless, a good plan which we can alter as per our convenience. :p

Any opinion on the schedule they released for core batch in the following manner for a week 2:1:3:1::optional:ethics:GS:essay and FLT? Is it doable?

This year I’ve also done only vision and insights pt compilations. I plan to stick to them. I also take some pointers from Hindu for prelims daily so that’s also a way I cover CA. If you ask me, I’ll advise you to stick to whatever you have read and revise it more.

I haven’t seen OnlyIAS notes. But don’t spend too much time in world history and post independence. I personally have used vision VAM for both these topics. Made no notes just read and marked them as these are low yield topics.

Looks good.... But the problem is doing optional + ethics and current affairs only looks such a tall task to me, I am not sure I will be able to follow completely. Plus they have given very little importance to the optional, Optionals like mine( PSIR) takes almost 4-5 hours daily after that I am hardly left with any time for covering gs along with answer writing for GS . Although will try to follow it for a week and see how it goes maybe I am underestimating myself :p

@SergioRamos went through the plan, its a perfect recipe for burnout.
Rather keeping it simple will be very fruitful.
I am planning optional till July end, whole syllabus.
Alongwith it mains specific topics revision.
Baki pre after July only.

Also, no answer writing at this stage, only mental framework and building stamina to revise the whole syllabus. I believe if this two can be managed well, answer writing will be easy.

The plan is indeed too heavy. But I am willing to give the answer writing portions a shot. No other reading, just answer writing. Let's see how it goes!

Their timetables are generally too intense. I have really bad memories associated with their timetable. In my first attempt in 2019, I remember the panic attacks I got when I saw their revision plan. And you are right, they seem to have cut some slack. But still, the amount devoted to optional is quite less in their timetable.

But yeah, still a good framework. Can be tweaked according to individual needs.

@SergioRamos @Villanelle and others, here is what I think is basically wrong with this Insight plan. And mostly their other plans too.

To me, Insights always seem to misplace priorities. In a gap of 140 days, you can safely leave 40 to 50 days dedicated for prelims. Among the remaining 90 odd days, they want you to stretch Ethics for 50 days, which is too much.

And are you really not going to read the newspaper at all? How long is the day inInsightland? 28 hours?
The template goes for most of the insight plans. They somehow assume their students to be akin to Nietzsche'sUbermensch. Alas, we are only human and less efficient.

What you can do is take two things at a time: Ethics And Optional. And then Optional and Some other GS paper. Augment them with your revision of CA.
