i thought the same but on googling found that the import duties have been as high as 40% . recently govt reduced import duties to 17.5% but it also imposed an agri cess of 17.5%@D503 well considering we depend on lot of imports for our edible oil requirements hence the first statement seems to be wrong
D is the answer.

Globally, there have been concerns due to the hot and dry weather conditions in Canada, Brazil, Argentina and the US. Canada is witnessing temperatures between 45 and 48 degrees and there are reports of destruction of the Canola crop. The US is also experiencing dry weather which has affected the soybean crop.@D503 How north america is affecting us ?? Which oil we are importing from there ?
