Hey

This is a 2013 PYQ. I think the answer should be (c) because the ques says balance of payments which includes all economic transactions i.e . current and capital. However the official key says its (a) but isnt import and export transactions part of Balance of Trade ? Can someone explain ?

Third statement is wrong because it's not just transaction between governments. Ex remittances, ECB FPI FDI etc. And the first option mentions import export transactions not import export of goods of services. So maybe that's why it's right.

@Shambhavi_singh The balance of payments (BOP) of a country is the record of all economic transactions between the residents of a country and the rest of the world in a particular period (over a quarter of a year or more commonly over a year).

Why is this statement wrong?

A functional chromosomes consists of various histone and non histone proteins apart from DNA. We can combine DNA from different species with recombinant DNA technology but forming a functional chromosome can be a really complex task which I have never heard of.

But isn’t chromosome a DNA molecule

3.9k views
@Rj_Khan in a way yes. A highly complex form of DNA is called chromosome. But in order for a chromosome to express itself or function there are many other proteins required which maybe specific to a specie. So in genetic engineering you only delete or insert a very small part of a certain gene from a different organism and that in itself is a complex task. But if you talk about forming a whole chromosome, that has not been done so far. It might happen but genetic engineering hasn’t advanced that far as of yet. And in this question functional is the key word because theoretically you might say it’s right but practically it will not be functional.
