Some questions regarding soils ?

- what is an podzolic soil?

- which soil is good - acidic or alkaline soil - or the one close to 7 pH.

- humus content would be found more in himalayas or in the gangetic ? if in himalayas why so?

Full convertibility of Indian rupee may mean -its free float with the international currencies.

Ibelieve this is not a feature of full convertibility but a market-based exchange rate. Can someone clarify this?

Exceptions to The 10% Energy Rule in a Food Chain?

It’s a comparison of the energy available between trophic levels. Pyramid of energy is always upright - I don't think there would be an exception.

Democratic Socialism, broadly speaking means, a democratic political system coupled with a socialist economy (welfare approach, mixed economy)

Okay. I'm still not entirely sold on this but, since the option doesn't take into account the democratic part at all. Question could have easily asked about what does mixed economy entail with regards to India and it would have still been C.

The meaning given in option C takes precedence only when Democratic Socialism is contrasted with State Socialism or Communist Socialism, which entails complete nationalization of means of production. Outside of the context, Democratic Socialism would first mean achieving for socialist goals through non violent, democratic means. Very possible question was picked straight from Laxmikant, hence C is the answer.

Does democratic socialism support the notion of natural inequality? Wouldn't constitutional democracy with natural inequality be liberalism?

Tbh, socialism seeks to do away with only social inequalities like unequal distribution of resources, wealth, equal opportunity and so on. It cannot remove natural inequality which will continue to exist on account of myriad physical differences. BUT, that said I get your point. Definitely over-thought this one.

@Joel_miller CSE 2020/21 Updates😊, [08.05.21 18:26]
UPSC CSP21:

As of now I do not have anything to share on this. UPSC is down with Covid cases.
I will update if I will have anything credible. Meanwhile take care of yourself and the family.

Update is likely in Mid May.

Best wishes,
Kaptaan 🙏🏼

Personally, as an aspirant I strongly feel that it will get postponed but I'm also preparing for exam whole heartedly.
