Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today arrested IAS officer Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh.
The 2009-batch IAS officer is currently serving as the Director of Horticulture, Odisha Government. The bureaucrat's office, residence and other places were searched by the anti-corruption agency officials following his arrest.

Guys this is a little off topic. So at the end of the first essay, I wrote a couple of lines from a poem in Hindi but my subject language was English. I wanted to write an English translation alongside but neither was there any space nor time? Do you think my entire essay will be rejected or how many marks will/can be deducted due to this?
@SankozaGood news - The whole essay won't be rejected.
Bad news - Some marks will definitely be deducted.

No dear it's not like that. Income of parents is taken into consideration and not that of candidates. I personally know many doctors whose parents income is less than 5 lac pa.

This year if I am not wrong they had asked not to write in other language. In all probability the examiner would be knowing hindi so it won't be a blunder but definitely some marks will be deducted. How much, depends on d whims and fancy of the examiner.
I graduated in 2017. Took coaching for sociology which ended in 18 since my GS knowledge was negligible so i decided to attempt exam in 19 but due to some trying situation,i was not into preparation till july/19.
When i started preparing in july,i thought of attempting in 2020 but when i picked my optional it seemed that i was studying it for first time(all clarity which i acquired earlier had vanished)
So i changed my plan and decided to attempt in 2021 to give a good fight.(i know the risks involved)
But i completely forgot Baswan committee. Now reading above comments,i am in a dillema whether to attempt exam in 2020 or 2021.
My wish:I have basic knowledge of GS and currently studying optional and still want to attempt in 2021.
Kindly suggest and if anyone has any info regarding pattern change kindly provide me,i won't blame if it turns wrong(i would still be thankful).
@abhiKindly suggest whether i should take a risk and attempt exam in 2021(if i dont clear i would be in trouble but optional will help in pcs) or shall i study day&night in a haphazard way and attempt in 2020(chances of clearing will be bleak)
I plead for help.
