LIVE Session onStrategic Mistakes and Handling Tricky Questions
LIVE Session for filling up DAF 2 | CSE 2020
Hello All,
So the last time I create a TG for Interview prep we saw some good discussions. However, the group has little archival value, by which I means discussions that happen are not archived on the Internet forever - which is something we need for Civils prep - or at least for the community.
This thread is created by ME circa 2021 to be "The Interview Group"
I am also working on a guide for Interview Preparation - which is kinda here
And a very interesting hobby discussion thread here

And that was the Home Secy. We will be dealing with bureaucrats who enjoy a Constitutional Post.
@Neyawn Whether Addressing woman chairperson/member with "madam sir" could be penalized?( ye ORN ki kissa mey bhag tha)
Ps:Lately rewatched Delhi crime series.

@Neyawn Sir, I plan to give IFS as first preference and chose economics optional(its possible they could ask on international trade). Otherwise, I absolutely have no background in IR except while preparing for GS2. All I have is interest and curiosity. So do you suggest me to read books on theoretical IR part (usually what PSIR does) And also could you suggest what specifically I should prepare for IFS. Thank you in advance
Do read at least one IR book. Rajiv Sikri is good enough. Read it like a story. A lot of things will make sense to you. When you say following IR is a hobby, I would expect candidate to have the popular books like does the elephant dance and spent at least half hour a day on IR.

Is it necessary to follow 2-3 newspapers these days for interview? I’m finding it difficult to manage with insights current affairs and also next pre preparation. Any one else also feeling the same? Please help!!
Read the front page news. Follow the one one you are following plus maybe one regular newspaper like express / HT / Times

@Matrigupta be honest, its not your choice and something that you arelooking for. A more inclined person can better serve.
i have found one for me - i am color blind and therefore ineligible.
If anybody wants to read a couple of books, you can choose from here.
I've thought of putting 3 hobbies, as I want them to focus on my work experience
1) Reading historical fiction - a no brainer for me - have read a couple and feel that I have a good idea why I enjoy it
2) following Indian politics - I've worked with an MP before, so I feel it's linked. Bit worried about very specific questions with names and history. A little risky I feel.
3) Dance - I've done kathak and folk dance, been a part of dance club etc. It's fine I guess but I don't know the theory part of each and every type of dance, so worried I'll get stuck there.
Any feedback?
