UPSC Prelims 2021 results have been declared by the Union Public Service Commission. Successful candidates have qualified for the UPSC Mains.

In. It'll be my second mains. Missed the CSE 2020 cutoff by 15 marks. Need to score about 200 more to get into double-digit rank.

Are you counting the gap from the cut off or the marks of the highest ranking candidate? The later is a better measure.

After the absolute shit year I had due to personal losses and three months of no studies(May-July) and then studies with terrible circumstances due to other responsibilities, clearing this prelims on border seems way sweeter than the last prelims when I had 110 marks.

I honestly did not think I will clear mainly because of the horrible mistakes I did, especially in questions like Right to property( and I am a Law graduate), not reading instructions in Suba, Sarkar Pargana question and at least 4-5 more such question each in Paper I and II. Wasted last few days without studying, panicking about how to go about finding a job and all. Need to work really, really hard now.

@Neyawn thank you sir for all the support ( I can’t express it in words) ,i was feeling nervous bcz of health related issues -bcz of which I was not able to study as I used to do before prelims

A friend is 5 attempts down. Date of birth 30-5-91. Category- Gen Non EWS. Can she still attempt next year's exam(CSE 2022)?

@Neyawn ha ha, well said sir, I'll completely agree with you. But for a student preparing at home without any coaching, I became a bit more casual and set a low target (cut-off marks only)... I'll definitely change my perspective as you said...

Thank you so much. The first response I got was negative and I did not have the heart to break that news to her on this already very bad day. If you do not mind, can you confirm again if she is eligible for next year's exam?

Couldn't clear and neither did I expect to. Major fault was NOT ENOUGH REVISIONS. Other factors include inconsistency in studying, not having a solid studyplan, changing plans often, with depression and anxiety being cherries on the cake.
