[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Bhai,,if you are that philanthropic then make it free for everyone, why making a sorry story and trying to slip in your product through your not so convincing sissy story. One free suggestion,,if you are an entrepreneur, then concentrate on the quality of   your products not on marketing gimmick,it won't fetch you anything..Jidhar dekho udhar sab apna story ko bechne par lga hua hai bhai ye forum hai forum hi rahne kyu isse useless marketplace bna rahe ho.unacademy jaisa machhhi bazar hi sufficient hai aspirants ke bheja fry krne ke liye..

I'm sorry brother/sister. I'll delete it. Thank you for the kind words, i appreciate it. :)  :)

@Tangent  Atleast have a look at his initiative before saying anything. The initiative is a good one and the least expensive among all those available in the market. The person making so many questions daily also need some money to sustain his work. Not every test series/link shared here is promotion. There's a silver lining for every cloud. Don't forget to see that in the darkness. Have a look a any of his free mock, it's quality and it's affordable price.

Thank you for the kind words, i appreciate it. :)

@Tangentwhy so much negativity? Now please don't say that everyone has their right to opinion, etc, etc..
If you do not like the initiative, don't go for it. But so much of hatred for your fellow aspirant? Not cool yaar..

@Tangent it's pretty easy for you to make your point without sounding like a complete asshat.
He is a very respectable person among senior aspirants like myself and has helped many in previous years.

Maybe note the blue tick adjacent to the name before deriding. Those are mostly long time members with credibility.

Good luck for prelims.

@ pizza is a guy from time of newayn and yoyo choti Singh.. Forum ias old discussion group.. There revision threads was a blessing before pre and mains.. Like many times before exam we don't feel like to open books.. And their contribution to threads was amazing..

His tests are actually amazing.. Aspirants used to ask him to allow them to register even after admission being closed.. As seats used to get filled immediately

And lastly - this is a field - jisme aapka jabh tak na ho jayei ( until one himself or herself get selected) .. Tabh tak.. Atleast tabh tak( until then) .. Dont make fun of others or be offensive.. Because when one start preparation.. no one wishes to go for subsequent attempts..

Not directed to anyone.. Just said in general- above last para..

Hello everyone, thank you for the love.

But I think we should leave tangent alone. With so much of gimmicks going around in the market, he/she may have thought that this must also be one among them. It's fine, sab se mistake ho jaati hai.

My only intention to post it here was because I was looking for those 40 aspirants with whom i can engage meaningfully and that would kind of act as a motivation for me to give my best every morning (Honestly, i am affected by the depressing atmosphere of the pandemic and i was looking for a change). A lot of aspirants visit here and I thought that since it's free, the message may reach the ones who need it.

Let's end the conversation here and I have deleted it by respecting tangent's comment because i feel that this forum belongs to everyone and even if one person feels uncomfortable, i should remove such a thing.

Also, Neyawn has built this platform with lots and lots of hard-work, so let's not derail from the original intent of the thread and keep the spirit going forward. And, i finally apologize again for the inconvenience.

If anyone were to ask me to suggest one platform where they can find and interact with the best brains of our country , I would be suggesting them this very platform that is ForumIAS community.

I have been a member of this place since more than a year now(this is some other ID) and I don’t want to sound emotional at all but also I cannot ignore the fact that I am attached to this platform. I am damn sure that this is the most suitable place where I can find like minded people who experience almost the same hustle and tussle which I do, leave Facebook, twitter,Instagram, Ola, über, tinder, happen or a street bazaar maybe. To be honest, this is no less than a social media site for me. It includes everything from memes to songs to answer writing.

And hence, I expect that I continue to experience  positivity/entertainment/ infotainment  of various kinds via this platform  during an era where being negative, depressed, saddened is the new normal.

Trust me, not often but quite a few times, post seeing negativity here, it urges me to delete my account here but at last I end up thinking that where else will I go to seek peace of mind apart from here.

I have, along with many others, contributed, though a little, on this platform, be it motivation, information, content, jokes/memes or peer to peer learning. Above all, I have learned so much via this platform.

And hence, it is a humble request to refrain from spreading any kind of negativity here. Try considering this platform and the members of it as your own beloved family.  Help those who seek assistance, guide those who are new in the preparation journey, criticise those who you think are wrong but in a humble and polite manner. Stay an active member or a silent observer, it is all up to you but just don’t spread negativity of any kind or else like me, many other capable, good looking and intellectual mortals will move out of this platform.

I hope not to offend anyone and make sense to everyone.

God bless all.

Peace!

Those who are in perception that Delhi has passed the peak will sooner or later realize the big game played in Delhi.

Delhi was in top 3 one month ago when the Rapid Antigen text was started. Only after this test which was supposed to be used in Red zone /pocket the good numbers are started coming making false perception that infection rate is coming down. The only gold standard test for COVID-19 is RtPcr worldwide. If we again do testing by RtPcr the infection rate might be 10000/day in Delhi.

Rapid Antigen test has very low sensitivity & specificity compare to RtPcr.

Till mid of July around 3L Rapid test was performed in Delhi. 2.85L were came out as negative! Its shocking.

Why the Maharashtra & TN have still exponential rising cases? Because they are still using RtPcr not the Rapid kit.

So we are still having high viral load in Delhi.

Don't fall in trap of Govt

You can. I write on plain sheets and add first two pages of mgp booklet.

I joined forum in 2016. I used to be a silent lurker back then and but I remember pizzza used to be very active on forum threads those days. He would help new aspirants with their queries. I also remember dr king schultz. He, pizzza and few others (I am not able to recall names) would post regularly and also help newbies with their queries. There was also this moderator and super-moderator thing those days. I remember there used to be a chit chat thread also which I would often visit 😁. Now I have re- joined forum this year after a gap of 3 years (with some different I'd) but honestly I really liked the old forum days.

@Tyler Durden yes Dr Schultz.. He got selected in Gujarat pcs around 2 Yrs back.. Also India bhai was there for before xam news..he was deputy collector in Bihar 1 yr back.. Those threads were good.. One for revision and one for chit chat bakar.. Which used to be closed down regularly as it used to get offensive while blowing steam

Also mango dolly.. I always envied him( in positive way..) .. Means every year he used to get selected.. Every yr literally.. I think 6 or 7 times he got selected..and his guidance for pub ad was amazing..

Also thread of wat u learnt after exam - it used to be best advise.. As used to be given before selection.. Like nandini (Bhatia) mam advise I still remember..

Even newayn post I remember on geography books.. And his comment on wizard geo book.. Tat was before his selection.. He got 101 rank if I rember correctly.. Pizza is from that group time.. When actual help was provided via threads..

My favourite memory from old forum came when i messaged a topper from CSE 2014 congratulating him. He thanked me back and it was quite a big deal for someone like me who was just about to give his first attempt. Those were really the days giants used to walk on the forum. One could even see crazyphoton aka Gaurav Sir's comments.

I keep hearing a lot about old forum threads, and everyone getting nostalgic. Can you please elaborate how different was it? Can't it be revived?
