@AlexanderSupertramp You are not alone. Such people are way too common in our country and I also have the (mis)fortune of knowing a few of them. People are not taking covid seriously at all. For them it is like normal seasonal khaansi zukaam (seasonal flu, cold). But what is more worrying is that I come from a rural background. And people I am talking about live in villages/tier 3 cities. I know an entire family which has covid symptoms but they are not ready to go to the hospital and get themselves tested. One of the relatives was telling my mother the other day that ganga ke ghat pe bahut mitti aa rahin hai is time. However, instead of accepting the seriousness of COVID, the usual response is ki jiska samay aa gaya hai usko kaun bacha sakta hai. Bas ek bahana lag gaya hai. Situation is very grim this time around. Personally, I did not have much anxiety issues last year but this time there is a constant stress and fear of the unknown, especially when some of the close relatives are battling covid.

@DramaticAdmiral I think we will have some certainty by the 2nd week of May. Most probably the guys are waiting for the situation to normalize a bit before coming out with any plans.

Second Wave
I don't know but the scenario all over the place was experienced by me last year around september- october.
Being from small city and "too" closecommunity, the people here were too ignorant of the Virus last year. Every house had 3-4 positives. Every family saw atleast one of their dear one dying. For me it was my uncle, my cousin nani, couple of friends' father and many more known ones were erased just like they weren't there in the first place.
But can you guess after so much loss, what they are doing in this second wave- "Sab changa c". Sab mahaul banaya jaa rha hai. Koi oxygen kami nahi hai, Arey apne vaccines lagwane hai .............
We humans have so much recency bias that we just let things go. We forget to show empathy towards people who are suffering. I am(was) no exception, I don't want/ed any exam to get postponed . I wanted EPFO exam to be held on 9th may, I still want prelims on 27th june. (Just because I am not facing any difficulty (as of now) ).
only 7-8 days ago I got to understand the situation, I was ignorant. When I got realization the night was sleepless.
It was tough for me last year when Prelims was nearing, though I was confident enough to clear, but Couldn't. Can't blame Pandemic only for that.
Be ready for the exams whenever it is and don't let situation to have upper hand. Once this wave is gone the world will be again about achievements. We will forget about these tough time (except people who would have faced serious loss), it won't matter why you failed, what circumstances were there when you couldn't do what you supposed to do. Questions will be the same: you still preparing, why don't you try that exam, why don't you call your ex-company to give you job again.
PS : The variant/s is/are different and danger now from last year and (for sure) we have marriage program in our family on 30th :P
Just wanted to highlight don't let your guard down - being it preparation(just for the sake of fear) or precautions. And if someone is sick in family or close one, try to help them, a week of preparation can be sacrificed for loved ones atleast for Prelims (due to its unpredictability)
