Hey everybody!
Starting from today my preparation for 2023. This will be my 2nd attempt. Having decided against going to Delhi, I'll be moving along with the community.
Like most of you guys over here, I'll be posting my daily targets, daily results, and weekly results on a regular basis hoping to build on small achievements. Will seek a little guidance from you all every now and then as I've arrived a little late to the party.(Day 01)
Targets for today -
Polity - M.Laxm. (Chapters 1-4)
PSIR - SR Ma'am notes (Plato and Socrates)
TH - 2nd Sept.
Newspaper reading is where I need a little guidance. How do I go about it? Making notes every day sounds like a daunting task to me. Do you guys make handwritten notes for everything you feel is important or only for things not well covered in online portals like Insights/BABA, etc? How do you do it? Please guide. Suggestions are required.
Good Morning, dudes and dudettes!
Daily Target Results -

Targets for 04/09/22 (Day 02) -
Polity - M. Laxmi. (Chapters 03-07)
PSIR - SR Ma'am Notes (Plato & Socrates Revision + Aristotle)
TH - 1st May + 1st Sept
I've decided to re-read the previous newspapers from May at least and I'll be making notes this time which I hadn't done earlier. Let's see how this pans out.
@SiddhantW Thanks. Also, nothing specific per se. Just an overall hold on the subject.
@Aazaad I'll surely have a look at the course, thanks for suggesting.
Also, can you guys give an example of the "If, not, while format" for clarity.
Most basic scenarios will be - "If bill passed by a house what happens , if not what happens"
"If governor reserves a bill what happens, goes to president , if passed again what happens"
If you've anything specific in mind, please go ahead.
You can also use comparison and contrasting between functions and powers of bodies/post etc.
Refer to PYQs to ensure you are learning right things and not worrying about memorizing stuff that doesn't matter. It was the biggest problem in my prep.

Amidst all of this chaos that prep creates, I feel like I'm losing myself and I do not wish to be so lost that I cannot recognize myself. How do I stay afloat? By doing things I love? How do I do the things I love? Is there any time to do that , 'cause I feel like it is always running out?
This should have been somewhere in my diary, not on this thread. But, here it is; This thread feels like home on days I do not feel at home with myself. Afterall, it is here that I see an account of everything that I have done and not done. I am afriad, I am getting too attached :P
I am always short of words when I wish to communicate my feelings. So, I compensate with silent hugs to everyone at home and write what helps me clear my head. Probably, this is one of the things I love, and this where I begin, and my worries end - My words will steady me , when everything else fails...
"Our worst foes are not belligerent circumstances, but wavering spirits.”

It’s one of those which I have to constantly remind myself not to feel guilty about as well. We have valorised hustle culture to the extent where being productive 24x7 seems to be the only way one can prove to the world ki hum paida hoke galti nhi kiye. I gave into this pressure in my 2nd attempt and crashed and burnt. It felt like itna kuch kiya ki kuch bhi theek se nhi kiya. For the last 2 attempts I have tried my best to not feel guilty about needing breaks or taking them when I felt like it. There’s no easy way around it but i told my brain that a certain number of breaks keep me far more productive than when I study with no breaks. These sort of strict deadlines and conditionalities I’ve realised are the essence of adulthood. Ultimately parenting yourself responsibly and ensuring that the child inside you survives without becoming an absolute brat is what makes for a successful adult. Not these “over-optimised” schedules, where god forbid if every waking second is not accounted for.
Hello folks back here after a much needed vacation. Ab se wapis kaam pe apna h. Will have to manage prep side by side with college from Monday onwards. So hopefully sab sahi rahega. Targets for 4.9.22 are:
NABARD (koi idea nhi h kya karna h, but form bhara toh 3 din hi sahi padh lenge)
May C/A backlog- 11-20
Daily C/A
Editorial
PSIR- ideology and world order, terrorism
That’s all folks. Let’s get this bread!

Making tables has also helped me in Polity, small tables on powers of pres and governor, powers of SC HC, where they differ ; powers of RS- LS, similarly for constitutional bodies. Makes revision easy, and referencing easier, if I get a question, I either see if it was in those tables and if not then I add it, if it was there I revise it.

4th day of September, 2022
P.S. I agree 100%

Tables seem the way out for me too. Easier to retain.
@Aazaad Got it. Thank you. Yes, PYQs are indispensable

Hi guys. Didn't post since last two days because my tendencies to miss deadlines was consuming me. I just was feeling a bit guilty(I have stopped feeling so since February 2022,but somehow this feeling had again engulfed me post college exams). So, I went to give the test today. Though, I feel I wrote it far from what I can term as satisfactory, but koi nahi. I was poor on reproducing what I had learnt, but am an eternal hopeful. Also,I believe Economics is something which can give me incremental returns with 1-2 more revisions(since I had just revised my Mains notes twice and there was a month long gap when I made them before exams) Now, I will be shifting to Geography.
Also, Sunday seems to be good day for deep observers in Delhi Metro. On Sundays, a decent amount of DU crowd seeks weekend dates, the small kids and outstation youth seek a trip to India Gate and blah blah. And, then there is usual but relatable survival economy where struggling aspirants are jostling with some hope and huge aspirations.Furthermore, I again lost my way. Not once but twice. Initially, I found it hard to locate the new test centre and then way back home, I landed up in Patel Nagar from Karol Bagh to strike home a realisation that I need to change the metro and subsequently, the platform.
Also, next few hours are for good, relishing food accompanied by soothing movie or webseries.
Back to posting targets.

You will also find some people in the metro who prefer to sleep no matter how crowded and what the circumstances may be like. I aspire to be like them XD

Just managed to complete the C/A backlog and Daily C/A today. Started NABARD and gave up midway because of how pointless it seems given that exam is on Wednesday. And that lack of motivation meant that I did not even get to my beloved PSIR. Tomorrow is a full day at college so I’ll have to manage to motivate myself to study for the exam somehow. Signing off for the night folks
Posting my targets here for tomorrow (because shaam ke 5 baje college se wapis aakar schedule banane ka motivation is as elusive as unicorns, or me sticking to my exercise schedule XD). So targets for 5.9.22 are:
NABARD (high priority)
Daily C/A
Editorial notes
May C/A backlog-20-25
Will we get the bread tomorrow? Time will tell I guess :)
The journey of CSE becomes more cumbersome when a person clears GS 1 comfortably but fails Csat repeatedly.
Clearing GS 1 repeatedly gives you confidence that you are on right track but CSAT failure (2 in line) do not give you a chance to cheer on your good work.
I believe getting competency in Csat is difficult in limited time. I joined amit garg's course in my 2022 attempt but it was full of crap.
Can anyone tell me how to master csat?
