[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Once i tried red bull in a aptitude paper ..  my brain strangely got slowed and i wasted time in solving problems normally i wld have avoided . How does it works on gs paper . Anyone tried ?

Been on Red Bull for 6+ years now. I'll tell you how it works best. I gave my last Mains on Red Bull because you really need it for the 2nd paper. At least I do.

We drink it for Caffeine. Caffeine blocks the neuroreceptors. If neuroreceptors get their specific recipients, you will feel at ease, lethargic, sleepy. What happens when we lie down on our bed!

To have the "Red Bull effect", you must drink it 30 minutes before the time you want it to kick in! This is because when Caffeine enters the blood stream, it increases your heart beat and you'll feel jittery for the first 15-20 minutes.

You must wait till 30 minutes for it to give you wings of alertness and improved concentration! Post 1-1.5 hours, the effects of Caffeine start dying out and the Sugar crash begins. Some might feel tired again. I didn't notice any such lethargy. So, the after-effects are overhyped I would say. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Also, if you are not used to having Caffeine in your body from other sources like Coffee, Chocolates etc., you will feel what you felt that day. You must tune your body in that way first.

Just my experience. I'm not a doctor. I have no complaint with Red Bull.

Asia, SE Asia, Europe, West Asia. I think all these regions are extremely important from the UPSC perspective.

Round 1-2-3 works only if you have enough speed.....even if i had that speed it was difficult for me to complete 3 rounds last year. i felt the paper was a bit lengthy i a sense that we had to think more on some questions especially S&T. all science question were bombarded at the start in my C set. it affected me somehow. this time if it happens i will straightaway skip 20-30 questions and start solving the rest. i think it will help.

See 4 volumes of EduBaba mapzine. I am completely relying on it and barring a few locations, they have covered most things.

Statutory reserve requirement has to do with overall liquidity in the system which is monitored by the RBI. Making people's deposit safe is something which will come under ratios like leverage ratio, Capital Adequacy Ratio,BASEL Norms etc..So 2nd statement is incorrect

@Happyji you can look up learning through maps on drishti site, found them decent and are covered on monthly basis.

Happened to me too. Headache after Red Bull. One should not try it if not already used to Red Bull on a regular basis.

Someone had recently uploaded a pdf summary of Themes-2 (Med History). Can’t find that person. Can you please also give me a summary of Our Pasts-2 if you have it?

If someone can locate that person please alert me.

Does anyone know of any good free CSAT mock test?

Would suggest doing 2017 actual UPSC paper. If you can get around 90 marks in that within 2 hours, there's not a lot to worry about.

That said, you can find CSAT mocks on freeupscmaterials

What is the IUCN status of Pygmy Hog? It's mentioned as critically endangered in Raus C3 but endangered on Wikipedia.
