[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Does anyone know of any good free CSAT mock test?

Would suggest doing 2017 actual UPSC paper. If you can get around 90 marks in that within 2 hours, there's not a lot to worry about.

That said, you can find CSAT mocks on freeupscmaterials

Thanks! Can you tell why you chose 2017 in particular?

It was quite tough per usual standards, and it most likely wont get tougher than that.

What is the IUCN status of Pygmy Hog? It's mentioned as critically endangered in Raus C3 but endangered on Wikipedia.

Its status recently changed from CR to EN.

@AlexanderSupertramp Ya. Even I now mark most questions doing elimination in Ist round itself. Just put a circle on these questions, which I am not very sure. Then, fill on omr first those without any circle and then, after counting, mark those I encircled according to the attempts needed. I feel we already know attempts have to high given the cutoffs and competition, so leaving too many questions for second round is itself not very fruitful. 😊

Critically Endangered. Why don’t you check on IUCN website directly? :D

The ans (a). can anybody explain how second statement is wrong?

Maintaining Statutory Reserve Requirements is a part of the Monetary policy function of RBI. Since it is a part of monetary policy, it deals with controlling the amount of money in circulation.  2nd option is not related to this function of RBI.

@Jokar Ya. Exactly. Could clear last year because I realised after 30 mins that no second round as such is possible and tried doing mostly in one go. Ya. 30 mins suggestion is good. Will keep it in mind.

So whenever I am attempting Comprehension part of CSAT, the ratio is somehow getting 20 right and 8-9 wrong. +- 2 ques.
How to improve??
I want to hit at least 23-24 correct as I would be attempting less from the quants part.
Though some of the answers I get as wrong I strongly disagree with and in other places they are right. This is the problem with comprehension part. 2-3 ques are debatable.
In general, can anybody provide a comprehensive strategy of getting around 25 correct in comprehension portions?
till 2015 they used to be pretty cakewalk, now UPSC has cranked them up a bit.
