Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
Clearing GS (107-112) ...but screwed up in CSAT...getting 50-55 marks in CSAT...this was my 4th attempt with full time preparation...gave mains last year...
.but this year it seems impossible!
Uncertainty is the new normal.
Will Need to do a part/full time job to sustain and please anyone having contacts regarding upsc related teaching etc let me know would be helpful !!!
But will continue studying and preparing for the exam!!!
Every year the same scenario happens here on forum. Everyone would just split their hairs on some questions, what's the point in proving your answer correct by some random source?
Don't dig so deep, upsc takes broader and general perspectives of answer. You can check through previous answer keys. Ofcourse there are couple of discrepancies in every coaching key this time around. And that's how it is supposed to be.
Regarding CSAT, even I am on border getting 31 correct out of 47. Not even on border my score may slide down, will have to now rely on comprehension part.
So my opinion would be don't come up with some new source just to prove a point. Omr is marked fate is sealed, let upsc decide. Everyone took guesses so you should not be putting up sources to prove your point, as that is meaningless.
And don't check many csat keys , if on border just hope that somehow you get 66.66
Well I am hoping for that actually.
And regarding cutoff, it is for sure that it would be less than last year. IMO it should be 97,98 for general not more than that.
Just a small suggestion, don't waste your time in this speculation. That should be the last thing you would want to do. Unless you seriously want to waste your time.
If you are scoring good, start preparation for mains. And expect bouncers in mains also.
If on border, than too start preparation, if in case you clear you will have a good start.
If not clearing, and you are still willing to appear yet again next year, than too start preparation for mains assuming that you are giving mains this time around. If you have prepared for prelim, mains analytical part would be just an good add on.
@kartikeybhatt171778 I'm not able to come to any view on cse cutoff. Most people i know of are scoring good, but my circle of people is 3-4th attempt people who never had prelims issues. 125+ must gaurantee ifos, lesser than that i can't say much
For ifos it shd be 116+ . Dnt see ifos cutoff ll breach last yr ifos cutoff . I think last yr paper was more solvable by logics tricks than this yr .
I tried the few available online like

But need to support family as well, as things are getting difficult
So hoping for the best, But i m prepared for the worst !!!

I am not able to scroll n scan whole thread.. can smone plz tell me how many questions in forum key are doubtful..i mean lag rha h diff hoga ans..
i just checked my score on forum calculator set D, n its very very less.. Just looking for some hope ki kya thode number bdh skte hain...
I am SC category, but I am still scoring poorly. Less than the 2018/2019 cutoff for my category. Not even 90. Just too many stupid mistakes. I mean easily 5-6 blunders. Could have been 55-56 questions correct, but I am stuck with 50-51. Maybe if lucky, I may get another 1-2 questions right with upsc key, but still what a poor performance. I am so furious for those silly polity mistakes. Ugh.
Forum key - assuming simulator has made mistake in 1 question (58 set B) compared to their actual answer key - 80.66
Shankar - 83.33
Baba - 83.33
Disaster. Fuck myself. I should jump off a bridge or something.
Last year's SC cut-off was 82, previous year's was 84, vs gen cat cut-off of 98 in both years. It's not unreasonable to expect the SC cut-off to drop a a couple points assuming the general cut-off drops (which definitely seems likely).
SC/ST cut-offs tend to be more sensitive to unconventional, interpretation-heavy papers like this one was.
