[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021
Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

Latest pib data. India has a merchandise deficit in September. Saw another pib article for data till Jun(I think) somewhere. It says India has merchandise deficit and services surplus
India doesn't have an overall trade or CAD, so option 4 isn't correct anyhow.

That's the truth actually. It's not about annual data when both in hindi and english they stress on presently. Check the hindi version. Bharat ka CAD chal raha hai. Tbh all options seem a bit off.

hardworking human predicts the cutoff of gen to be 93+-2....he has been pretty accurate since past few years... although 93 seems far fetched 98 looks safe assuming you have not counted doubtful questions
He tricks worked big time this time especially in S&T. I watched his videos related to tricks to solve prelims questions. And he repeatedly said that, in S&T questions if you are not sure about any particular statement being right or not, assume all statements are correct mark D as answer. And now it turns out that almost all the S&T questions had D answer (all statements correct) bcoz that's how the question paper setter has been framing the q. paper for past few years. I became skeptical in the exam and thought that D couldn't be the answer for this many questions and dearly paid the price for this blunder.

@Howzthejosh Sum of digits of number pucha hai, not the number itself.For eg: 10^3+1 = 1001. Now 1+0+0+1=2. This would be true for all integers lekin aisa koi option hai nahi. So the best option is all whole numbers.
will be true only for +ve integers.....

Trade surplus now but merchandise deficit as well. But there is no option saying 1 and 3.
So, the question framer kept the entire year in mind since in that case we have an option 1,3 and 4 which doesn't contradict. Poorly framed question but the answer is D. This is bad because it is punishing people who are updated about the fact that we have a surplus this quarter.

shouldnt be this correct? CM of Maharashtra Udhhav Thakare was CM even though he is not member of SLA or SLC

Yeh kaisa baat hai, why do you add the word presently then? Because presently if anything we have done consistently that's to have a service surplus. Bar that both are wrong as we don't have a merchandize deficit every quarter and we aren't having a CAD for 2 quarters now.

Bhai this depends on UPSC s interpretation. Please don't take marks for this q. If UPSC took it as a general statement it will be A. If UPSC means specifically as it seems to me it will be D. UPSC has pulled a lot of bummers over time, like the harapan ghora. So leave this on UPSC.

@vikhcu2073 dhanyawaad. Ek aur doubt hai that i am getting 77 point something in CSAT from career launcher answer key and from others there is a discrepancy because of which its margin ka maamla. Discrepancy is mainly in comprehension toh mera maan na hai 77 se kitna vary hoga yaar csat ka score.. God so twisting. Can you advise on this ? Plus I hope your paper went well and are preparing for mains.

Sevpuri,Yea.. but whlie solving the question i thought uddhav thakrey case particularly as it was in the news..as there was no election to SLA seats due to corona and 6 months was going to expire and hence they wanted to nominate him in SLC...
@SantiCazorla Same thoughts here since quarterly or yearly not mentioned and there is no option as 1,3, we should take option D as correct. Moreover Trade deficit(GOOD AND SERVICES IMPORT AND EXPORT) and CAD( Goods,services , interest and transfers) are different, why UPSC has written CAD/ TRADE deficit in the option.
So here the debate is about whether the answer is inclusive of the inappropriate answer or exclusive of the inappropriate. The problem with exclusive one is that it leaves 1 appropriate statement out. The problem with the inclusive one is that it takes a very wrong claim as true.
I mean they could use the word annually. Why use presently.
Fuck man. I did it correct and then changed it coz I thought UPSC put the word presently consciously
