[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Someone please clarify on Q 81: Set A

Schedule VI Wildlife Protection Act

S 2. [(27) “specified plant” means any plant specified in Schedule VI;]

S. 17CCultivation of specified plants without licence prohibited.—(1) No person shall cultivate a specified plant except under and in accordance with a licence granted by the Chief Wild Life Warden or any other officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf:

@Patootie

Hey mate. Cultivation of Plants in Schedule VI needs a license. It's not completely prohibited.

Wireless Transmission electricity answer was wrong as always said. .. and I supported earlier theories of tesla and all that it is only in research phase and  in labs of power sector companies this time.

The question asked -At present level of

So at present level .. Wireless transmission is in very nascent stage. Recently , In August 2020 (may be upsc preparing question paper at that time)

New Zealand startup announced a demonstration to show that they have achieved it in lab and want to demo the concept.

I searched and it is all over the Internet. The below link I am posting from IEEE publishing window itself which published this development on 20 aug 2020.

Emrod’s laboratory prototype currently operates indoors at a distance of just 2 meters. Work is under way to build a 40-meter demonstration system, but it, too, will be indoors where conditions can be easily managed. Sometime next year though Emrod plans a field test at a still-to-be-determined grid-connected facility operated by Powerco, New Zealand’s second largest utility with around 1.1 million customers.

So - There should not be iota of doubt -At present level of tech , Wireless electricity transmission is not feasible... It is actually still in demonstration stage by various companies.

Also - Wireless charging is different concept - It uses near field magnetic induction as a transfer mechanism to supply very tiny induced emf. It is not what wireless transmission is.

Transmission -This term specifically used in power sector to supply bulk of electricity power (high potential) to reasonably long or medium distances.

So , I do not know .. why people making it right. Its basics of physics yaar that we have all studied in class 12.

I lost my common sense twice on few data based bummers there and ... Lost 2 or 3 simple questions. Matlab Bomb fata agar to aaju baaju ka saman ek do jal jaata hai.
ended up at 94 .. non controversial clean score.
Attempted only 76 .. didn't took risk.
Correct around 53 somewhat .. and some more can be correct as well ... 4 question in controversy for me..(i didn't counted those and even already deducted .67 ) .

Mujhe science ke question dekh ke every year .. I think.. Before 10 days of exam just google.

Top 25 latest technologies of this year. Aur unko google se pad le search kar ke .. UPSC ka poora science ka fans jaayega.

I thought this way that wireless transmission is when you send or receive something which don't have mass. Like photons. But sending electrons means that you are sending some mass as well. That creates some sort of physical link between ends and not in line with wirelessness.

I see people are getting confused on defintion on 'Financial debt'.
I m of a opinion that UPSC asked this in context of IBC ruling in Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process where they needed to define who were 'Operational creditors' and who were 'Financial creditors'

https://www.ibbi.gov.in/uploads/publication/190609_UnderstandingtheIBC_Final.pdf

Dont go by definitions on other sites. UPSC generally takes definition from such official websites

Non Financial debt - The debt held by governments, households, and companies not in the financial sector.

Here the crux is financial sector!! Government, Household and Companies together are exhaustive subsets of economy.

But Credit Card and Housing loans are for non Financial purpose.

But T-bill can be for financial/business purpose? Companies/Banks/FPIs/Businesses invest in T-bill to earn money as it is one of the safest way!! How can it be non-financial debt?

Well there can be company credit cards for such companies in the financial sector too. Maybe that's the reasoning why shankar gave 3 only. Amount outstanding in credit cards thus may not be non financial in that sense.

T-bills are definitely non-financial. Can't say about other 2. Answer could be all of them.

That is true actually. But you k ow Electo magnetic waves ... Dual nature of particleand De brogile hypothesis.

Point is - You can stream or beam the electrons like beam. No issue.
But problem is .. Eletron train not only have electric field but also magnetic field(12th basics). The fieldstrength  are proportional to  mass of ion and drift velocity and thus potential created(voltage).

So, You can not beam electeons for 11000 volatge line right now.. and not even for 220 V home electricity.

Hazarde are too much. (Remember that 11KV line board .. DANGER with skull - The reason is magnetic field around wire pull you up towards wire and ... You do not need physical touch but you just need to part of electric field around conductor to get electrolucated )

Noun. nonfinancial debt (countable and uncountable, plural nonfinancial debts) (finance)
The debt held by
  1. governments,
  2. households, and
  3. companies not in the financial sector.

Housing loans owed by households = non fin debt

amounts outstanding on credit cards = do credit cards exist for fin companies as a whole? But generally speaking, credit card debt is again held by households which makes it a non financial debt.

T- Bills is debt held by govt. Again a non-fin debt.

When do financial corps incur debt? Not when they invest in t-bills but when they float bonds or take out loans from banks. None of the given options seem to fall under this condition.

I opted for 3 only but now it looks like all 3 are non-fin debt, generally speaking, which is what UPSC tends to consider.

Dude read the definition once again, it says given by government, household and private companies not to private companies. If this definition is correct then answer most certainly is 3 only.
