Shit man pretty bad scenario. It is such a grey area too, whom to blame or what to expect. But mismanagement of exams and in one swoop a whole year goes to waste, can only empathesize with candidates.

@sat_009i think it will decrease a bit mayb 10-15 marks

@sat_009On same marking scheme as last year, expect a little fall. Gone are those days when one exceptional paper was able to pull you to the list I believe, with the kind of GS Papers that came this year. Would need above average performance now in all papers to get any real advantage I believe.

Paper 1 was manageable. Had to write 5 compulsory questions of section B in last 20 minutes or so. I was awarded only 90 in paper 1 in 2018 mains as compared to 149 in 2017 mains. So cant really say anything. How was your paper?

@ranahere999s its true, use of reservation at any stage of exam by candidate makes him/her to be alloted only category seat and not UR seat. eg- tina dabi, though her marks in mains and interview are top, by virtue of clearing prelims in sc category she was not alloted UR seat as per my knowledge

Nope, i dont think it' like this, 50.5% seats(w/o ews) are UR/Open category, i.e., anyone can compete on them regardless of the caste, the rest of the seats are reserved(wrt merit list as only mains+inter scores are counted not pre, that would apply to Tina Dabi also i think)

@sat_009I think cut off will be around 775 for UR and 740 for OBC.
