Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.

@LostLog essay ka core theme bhi galat interpret krke likh ke ate hai and u are worried about one spelling mistake.

after reading posts about ews et. al and its impact on result, don't know why but mann nhi karta padhne ka, phir se attempt dene ka, ya forum pe bhi comment krne ka... I understand the nuances of reservation policy in public employment and to a great extent I do agree with it too, just sharing the midnight exasperation here...koi bura mat maan lena bhai

Anyone did a spelling mistake and still got above-average marks in the essay paper?
Got 120 in essay last year. I guess it was more or less the average.
In Part B, I wrote the "privilege & values" wala essay.
In the entire essay, I misspelled "privilege" as "priviledge" (in at least more than 50 places)
So, certainly it's not a big factor, otherwise I would have gotten much less marks.
@CaesarNope. I know people who have made outright false calims in their DAF in those sections to make it more appealing. Many even got away with it .

I hv seen some toppers copy of optional mains. Committed repeated spelling mistakes especially in technical words n name of scholars yet managed around 300.
@dancingminionthat is such a relief. I have repeated the word 2-3 times.
2016 mein course cover nahi kiya tha gs aur optional mein to lga ki 2017 mein sab padke jaunga...phir 2017 mein poora to nahi cover kiya lekin improvement hui aur kuch -2 baatein samajh mein aayi ki kya padna hai aur kya nahi....but 2019 mein sab padke gya jo-2 socha tha lekin iss baar samajh hi nahi aa rha ki mains accha hua hai ya nahi.....gs 2 aur 3 mein to padne ka kuch fayda hi nahi lga...pta nahi kya hoga 5th attempt hai aur energy hi khatam hoti ja rahi hai...bina naukri ke society aise dekhti hai jaise koi heinous crime kar diya ho...phir shaadi ki tension...kabhi-2 to lagta hai ki sab chod ke kisi aur planet pe chale jao yahan to bahut chaos hai....pta nahi kyu mujhe aisa lagta hai ki preparation phase mein aapke pass koi aisa hona chaiye jissey aap khul ke baat kar sake Issey stress kam hota hai..mere saath jo madam thi ab unhe koi aur accha lagta hai.....baaki maa daily kehti ki samay ek jaisa nahi rehta ....so i have faith in myself and my mother ....apna time aayega.....all the best to all dedicated upsc aspirants
