[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

Mine is 92.2 from Vision

Doubtful are

1)Blockchain

2)Constitution basic structure

3)Sitting of houses (minimum no of days )

4)non financial debt

Any chances of giving mains

There is no doubt in blockchain and basic structure question. Doubt arises when there is different interpretations of words. Blockchain is 1&3, basic structure is 2 only.

@Chalukya if the qn is dropped ...those who have read the english version and marked the right option ....it is serious injustice to them....as even one question can put out or in of race

That is not the point. Of course government does trade. Read the question again. Which of the following policies affect price of rice. Does government trade leads to price fluctuation. Of course not.

@walterwhit3 It would be really helpful for me if it's 1,3,4.Words like effective use and present state of development swayed me to mark it but UPSC will be the final boss.

Government trading is a wider term meaning domestic sale through OMSS, Import/Export through State Trading Corporation,PEC Limited. Open Market Sales Schemes definitely affect domestic prices because the reserve price of the OMSS acts as the base price for market. Recently govt lowered the base price of wheat e-auction through OMSS because it was set way higher than prevailing market prices.

It was a general question and I dont think UPSC will go into this much details. Answer will be D(all).

@Cold_WarIt shows the reference to bengal and it was in that context only.

@sanjayrao107433 I would respectfully disagree. It quite explicitly writes that his arguments were towards economic and social deprivation of Indian people rather than Bengal alone. Moreover this book contains exposition of writings of R. C Dutt and others, who had wrote about economic exploitation of India not Bengal alone.

@Cold_WarIt is specifically written that it was an attempt to awake the people of bengal who are in hypnotic conquest of the English plays, culture and it created an explosion of ideas which further propelled the idea of swadeshi in bengal after partition. Rest is upto UPSC in which context it takes the meaning of desh.

@Aspirant123 same! Even I’ve marked 1 3 and 4. I have one question though - is wireless charging in iPhones an example of wireless transmission of electricity? If yes, then all is the answer

Also, the mere fact that Deuskar was related to both Bengal and Maharashtra, makes it hard to believe that the term was used specifically for Bengal.

No. That is electromagnetic induction Like induction heater, transformer etc.

@Equalizer are bhai wireless energy transmission and energy produced from electromagnetic induction are same things. When there is a time varying electromagnetic field, it produces electricity. Electric and magnetic field are linked to each other in that way. Please read the 4 maxwell equations.

I am not debating the question, but people seem to be getting basic science facts wrong, please google yourself before believing anything
