Doesn't matter. If someone predicted this as essay topic and prepared for it, then that's different.
We all had seen Spiderman, did anyone think of "with great power comes great responsibility" as essay topic?(asked in 2014)😅
"History as farce" statement comes up at least in history and PSIR optionals, and it also pops up in many news articles. Many aspirants might've seen it before but I don't think anyone would've prepared it up front for essay (because that way anything can be asked for essay).

Yes. But the thing is its so wrong factually and logically. You cant go and quote such a thing in the mains answer that islamic is liberalism and reforms were being brought against it. You could have said about Buddhism or Jainism but Islam? A liberal religion? And you are saying it as "bs 19-20 ka fark" and moreover, 19 here is Hinduism and 20 is Islamism according to her. Oh man :||
It's all contextual. We are comparing Islam with present day Hinduism. Back then, in Islam a slave could become the ruler! The "Hindu society" was then caste ridden and rotten with extreme decadence on one hand (tantric cults allowed even for incest) and poor famished untouchables on the other. We were inward looking and without much contact with the outside world (as mentioned by Al Biruni).
BTW, Shankara wasn't a bhakti saint, he was into Jnana marga.
Slaves becoming ruler was an exception or norm? In Hinduism as well such mobility was present.
Marathas belonged to Shudra category who went ritual transformation after Shivaji.
Patidars belonged to Shudra category who achieved status of kshatriya.
Kayastha belonged to Shudra category who achieved the status of dvija born.
Such a mobility was already there in Hinduism.

Has anyone attempted the paper poorly in the previous mains attempt? If so, can they share the total marks of correct questions attempted and final score in the result?
I could only attempt 200-210 marks of questions correctly in my optional while around 400-420 range is required to get a decent score of 260+ score. Can anyone share their past experience? I'm curious about how the effect of scaling plays when performed below average.

chamomile,First mains ,gave just iasbaba free mock a week before mains and few pyq on my ownIn the few mocks I wrote ,I was struggling to complete 17 questions (marks were around 80) due to time constraintsBut on the day of exam, I started attempting from 15 m and then 10m in GS ,in essay I just alloted 5 min for structure formationSurprisingly I completed all questions on time and had 9-10 minutes remaining during which I added any missing terms ,underlining double underlining heading and terms like it's done in schoolI'm sure that neither quality of answers nor handwriting was relevant and legible enoughThe person sitting next to me gave a weird look like how the heck you got time to underline stuff even in Ethics😬I know the marks cannot be predicted but I'm really afraid on finishing fast my papers although the average content and legible handwriting was there ,did anyone else experience similar surprising powers in exam hall ?This is great..
You are the first candidate I m coming across who claimed to have completed the papers 10 minutes before the scheduled time..
You can teach us on time management..
I also had the fortune of completing my second optional 10 minutes before time and guess what my score was below 100 in it 😂😂

It was sort of related to a research paper I guess.. I have skimmed through it few days before exam.. so I wrote as much as I remember.. I dont expect to get more than 3-4 marks in that...

This was my first mains.. I'm having the optimism bias.. I really dont know how much they would give for that answer..
