CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Finished both the tests and almost finished the test analysis (90%). Maths test showed how a lot more revision is necessary to be in a respectable position in terms of the optional. Will get back to these chapters in one week once I finish the first round revision.

Targets:

  • Revisit maths test, finish test analysis
  • Revise PDE Theory
  • Revise Geography (mostly diagrams)

Note to self: Never again give a test half prepared.

Have a good day tomorrow, good people! :D

Couldn't finish the 2nd and 3rd targets on time. Guess I was too overambitious. Going to extend PDE by a day. Also, going to run some errands tomorrow so might lose out on a little time, will compensate for it later.

Targets:

  • Finish PDE Theory
  • PDE PYQs (1/2)
  • Finish Geography
  • Revise Art & Culture (mains centric)
  • Newspaper (haven't been able to find time for it since forever, let me try adding it here)

@Augustya_Shrivastava really appreciate you posting these tidbits of wisdom, looking forward to lots more :)

Hello ppl, can somone guide , how to revise efficiently so things remain in memory?

When I am revising one thing forgetting other, and when revising other , the third thing and first as well is cleaned out…. and cycle goes on. Also sometimes it feels very boring to study same thing again n again…

guide me anyone? The correct way?

Good morning! I managed to wake up early(as per my standards) :)

Targets - 18/11/2021

 1. Modern India

 2. Sociology (+Newspaper goes without saying)

Going to try out not setting concrete targets today. Only target is to clock as many hours(min 9) as possible on YPT.

Have a nice and productive day, everyone.

Managed only 7 hours but was a decent day.

Back to my old schedule of waking up late. Going to make peace with it and not push too much. It's alright, i guess. Jab chahe utho padhlo bas. No more adventures with changing schedule forcefully.

19/11/2021

Today's targets are the same.

Socio Paper 1- some pending notes to be done

Modern India

Happy with my progress in Socio. Finished 2 classes and some note making of Paper I although there is a nagging feeling that I am going too slow.

Did not touch Modern India again :( . As a repentance, whole day for MI and October Monthly (don't spend the whole day on Oct monthly!)

Back to my old schedule and it feels better. If I ever wish to wake up early again, will make sure it is done organically or step by step not a 1 day forced attempt.

Targets - 20/11/2021

1.Modern India (till you cannot look at spectrum and study it anymore for the day)

2.October Monthly (at the max 3 hours)

Thank you to all those who shook me on YPT. It definitely helps. I am late today since I am in my messed up schedule again.

Without commitment, you'll never start. Without consistency, you'll never finish. Keep going, everyone !

Hello, there isn't any one size fits all approach according to me but, most people vouch for active recall whether it is by using flash cards, Anki, writing tests or just trying to recall what you have studied by concealing a part of your notes and trying to recall the rest. You can check this thread out. There is a detailed discussion on effective study techniques. Hope it helps.
