Can someone shed some light as to why major coaching institutes do not share the evaluated answer scripts of CSE-qualified people?
I have my own reasons to believe why would they do so. Would love to understand other compelling views.

The topper answer copies are usually not the one getting the highest marks in a test. For example, Rank 6's Ethics copy may have been marked at 104 marks in TS, but she ended up with 162. Or vice versa. So to a normal aspirant's eye the evaluation would look non-sensical and they might not subscribe to the coaching.

So, uploading unchecked scripts does that required promotion without any related harm.

Or

They'd run-out of business [Publishing 'Evaluated Copy' makes self-evaluation easy].

Kind of Process Patenting.

The Road Not Taken- By Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

This poem is something extremely close to my heart. When I took the plunge into this exam by leaving my job, I was at a crossroads. Each of the roads had its own opportunities and neither one was any less traveled really. Further, much like each way leads to another way, each one offered a different life, fulfilling in its own ways. At that time, I decided to use this poem as my anthem of uniqueness. I was following my dream, and to dare to follow your dreams is the stuff of great poetry. I rationalised it as my road less traveled, but it wasn’t really any less traveled than the other one. Had I cleared my exam in either of my last two attempts, some day long into the future, I would probably proudly tell my grandkids that I took the road that was less traveled, and that made all the difference. If my experiences as an IAS officer made me regret my choices, I would still rationalise them but say that they were wrong in retrospect. I would say that they made all the difference, in a tone filled with  regret.

After my failures, I found myself at a crossroads again. It wasn’t the same crossroads and I wasn’t the same person. Each way had led to another way, until I reached here. I could have given one more full time attempt or taken up a job. I chose my way of taking up a job. I am still preparing for the exam. If I clear it now, one day, I would probably tell my grandkids that I took the road less travelled of preparing alongside a full time job, and that that made all the difference. If I don’t clear it, I’d tell them that about how I don’t regret any of the time I spent preparing. I’d tell them how preparing and not clearing the exam helped me become a much better lawyer, and contribute better in the private sector. I’d probably even tell them that this was what was better for me than the services. And I would then point to this crossroads and say how my choice made all the difference, and how my choice of moving on from the exam was the tougher thing to do (which most others don’t).

Whenever you are stuck at a crossroads, you will make a choice. Someone else would make a different choice. Each choice would have its own takers. Each choice would lead you down an entirely different path, as one way always leads to another. One day, everyone would rationalise their choices and point to them as the ones that made all the difference. “That has made all the difference” can be said with a heavy heart or with glee. Or with a mixed flavour of regret and relief.

@PursuitofHappyness Whichever path you choose, I genuinely hope you, my friend, will get to a point someday, when you will say it with joy. Pursuit of Happyness is my favourite movie of all time. There’s a line in that movie.

You can chase your dream with a job. You can chase your dream without a job. Just protect that dream, man. Don’t let anyone tell you how you can or cannot chase that dream. You know best. It’s your dream after all. You don’t ever have to justify your dream to anyone. You will one day rationalise your own choices, whichever path you choose. And you will say that you protected your dream in the way you best knew how. That’s the stuff of poetry.  I wish you the very best, my friend. :)

@Patootie thank you for writing this, and also for correctly referencing the poem (..if that’s a thing and we ignore subjective interpretations of art all together).

It reminded me of the scene from Orange Is The New Black, where Piper is mad that nobody gets its meaning :P

ICSE board? :P

High Five!

I recognised it when you talked about the real meaning of The Road not Taken. My teachers had an unhealthy fascination over this trivia and I know for a fact several other ICSE school teachers had the same feelings. :P

And, Do not even get me started on be matlab ki Shakespearean English. I still remember many phrases and poems, IDK Why. :(

"cries in As You Like It and Macbeth".

That Aashima goyal case stands dismissed.

The only glimmer of hope for her now is that she would be possibly not barred from any further attempt by the UPSC.

I cant even imagine what she would be going through.

Matlab after getting a 2 digit rank  this happened.

Brutal.

I think Aashima's candidature was cancelled post final result due to a fake EWS certificate. She got some rank in 60s if I remember correctly. I do not have the full details of the case and fail to find any credible news link.

If everybody did that people would be able to compare evaluations of different institutes. I guess no one wants that.

Even seeing a bunch of evaluations from the same institute might expose to us that there are some standard template comments that everyone is getting. What seems personalised and specific now may not seem so then.

Without a forum like this we would be quite in the dark. Especially first timers, their 365x24x7 ATMs, who already run behind big name coachings. And I’ve seen very few toppers who are actually honest about the quality of test series in their videos and blogs.

July 2019- she qualifies pre (ews)

Goes on clearing mains and qualifies for interview.

UPSC mails her before interview to submit EWS certi within a week based on income and asset for the year 2017-18- the legit one- as she had submitted one made out of assessment based on  2018-19 income.

She wrote back citing her inability to get it made in such a short span of time. Was allowed to participate in interview.

Then she was again given a time window to submit her ews certificate. Again she couldnot produce the legitimate certificate and asked upsc to consider what she had already submitted citing her inability to get it made due to non cooperation from staff and all.

On 4th August 2020 final results declared . She secures air 65.

After this two different  time windows are offered to her to submit the relevant certificate. Both the times she expresses her inability and request DOPT to consider 2018-19 one as the relevant document.

Dopt does not entertain and thus in subsequent rounds of  service allocation her name is found missing.

She then files a rti to know about the status of her candidature and finds that it has been cancelled.

Knocks the door of judiciary asking it to set aside DOPT's action as arbitrary .

In court gov says that she was provided ample opportunities to present the certificate and on her inability they willingly got an enquiry conducted by income tax dept regarding her family's income for the year 2017-18 and found it was above 10lakhs - thus ineligible.

Judge saheb maante h iss baat ko and accordingly dismisses the case noting that without the relevant certificate she cant claim any benefits and the enquiry shows that her family for the relevant fiscal year fell into a higher income bracket

No not fake certificate. Just not the relevant one.

The point of contention was not whether what she had submitted was genuine or forged. Dopt simply contested that she was required to submit 2017-18 one which she failed to do so.

Since genuineness was not contested she would not be debarred, possibly. At least this is what I think and wish for her.
