Should be A. Violence took place.

Communists dint participate in QIM as Russia was on the side of Britain.

Yeah. Answer should be a.

It was a violent movement, as all the leaders were arrested during it and the masses were left on their own.

Yeah. Answer should be a.

If I am not wrong, as per UPSC official answer key, the correct answer is option (b).

This was asked in 2011 if I remember correctly. Please correct me if I am wrong.

@Jurgen_klopp lol when I read this question I was very confused. You can make a case for A,B and D all being incorrect. It was sporadically violent but I guess A is kept correct because of the whole ‘non-violent’ character of the independence movement. B incorrect because the resolution was moved by J.Nehru and though Mahatama Gandhi was named the leader, he didn’t lead it since he was imprisoned almost immediately after the proclamation of the movement. C since workers did participate in strikes but you could make a case that it says ‘in general’ and in general workers didn’t really participate because of the communist support to the war effort. They were much more involved in post independence movements.
In the exam I certainly wouldn’t have been ‘brave’ enough to mark B but out of these it seems the most correct.

It does not matter what other websites say.. Hum aspirants ke liye UPSC answer key is 'patthar ki lakeer'.. even though I feel UPSC would be confused even among themselves... Maybe they wanted to ask which statement is correct and then gave the answer as (b)..

Anyway I don't think it would be asked again.. We all know what the actual facts were.. Lets hope UPSC doesn't give ambiguous questions like this again..

The reason for not selecting A/B

as of now we all agree possible answer to be A/B/D.

A: Quit India movement started with non violent nature . However the nature transformed when the attrocities by british grew towards the people.

B: Though the movement was led by Gandhi ( as per the congress session announcement made in Ramgarh session ). However it became leaderless movement.

D: outrightly negate involvement of Labour class ( I may get stuck if its written less involvement or similar statment)

We will have to consider the UPSC answer only. That was B. Same goes for the Gypsum question where UPSC said that it cant be used to conserve water(Google says reverse) or ramasar question of 2019.

Is the witness protection scheme 2018 applicable to tribunals as well ? SC made it mandatory for all courts. Not sure if tribunals will be included under this.
